@SalSports … A schedule question: do you know if the home/road teams for the 17th game are scheduled to flip in the future? For example, the Bills have gone on the road for their 17th game against the NFC West twice and have gotten the East team at home twice.

@Schopptalk; @Bulldogwgr … not a weekly guest, but Nick Bakay would be a one seed for me in a tournament of your guests.

@LLysowski I would say the opposite. My recollection is the Sabres cleared a path for him and didn’t put additional goalies in place to potentially block his development (UPL was here), though you could argue they could have used a goalie in that season to push them into the playoffs.

@BangedUpBills This is great information. Thanks for the education on Ty’s injury.

@MattKopnak I think this is exactly right. It stinks Winnipeg is in this situation, but this could swallow their season whole if they let it linger. When the Sabres dragged the Eichel trade into the season, it consumed everything.

@Schopptalk … Heard you talking announcer assignments for week 1, and this article from the Athletic notes Nantz-Romo were slated for Vikings-Packers, which would leave the new Eagle-Tucker team with Bills-Texans. Could change, but passing it along: nytimes.com/athletic/74833…

@ntrider825 Also another example of them being unplugged from the fan base and the team’s history. We will never see him or hear from Lucic, but that isn’t the point. There are many beloved ex-Sabres who have these jobs … for other organizations.

@ByMHarrington Reminds me a lot of what you wrote about the Evander Kane trade back in the day: “A lot of ‘and’ here.” Except this time it’s the Sabres that got the “ands” while giving up the best player in the deal (at least for now).

@ExpectedBuffalo @xBuffaloAnth Chris Drury. I don’t know how the Rangers would factor in to the Sabres’ offseason, though. Maybe just prank call him.

@ntrider825 I don’t think it’s fair to say teams in enthusiast or cold markets are not trying to win at all costs. In many cases, those markets aren’t given a chance to even make an offer because the player has already decided on 3-4 places they want to go, usually warm and no-tax markets.

@NotTheJoeMarino Lots of trade protection on that roster. Maybe you can get your hands on 10th overall for use in another package.

@mikeystephens81 So to make a point to Edmonton, Cassidy sits at home for a year.

@NotTheJoeMarino Agree, but the problem is there are only a few goalies you can trust year to year (and even they have struggled in the playoffs). And all of those guys had question marks (that’s putting it lightly for Hart). Gotta hope your guy is hot at the right time.
