I wrote about Scottie's relationship with the Lord. How even though it's not a gimmick to help him win major championships, the freedom and contentment he experiences because of his faith sure helps with winning major championships. cbssports.com/golf/news/mast…
@KylePorterCBS Good stuff, man. Really enjoy your coverage
Excellent article Kyle! Highly recommended. 👏 "While Scheffler is not devoted to his faith for the purpose of winning golf tournaments -- quite the opposite, in fact -- in listening to him speak about it, one would find it difficult for a golfer to have a better mindspace. He holds the line between "cares a lot" and "identity not tethered to outcome" perfectly. This is not a state of mind he works hard on adopting like other golfers; it's simply his belief system. It's who he is." -KP
@KylePorterCBS That inner peace and his talent are pretty special combo
@KylePorterCBS Whatever brings you peace, and most importantly allows you to control your breathing is key. He seems to be able to be calm when he needs. I do worry a little bit about that right foot. Sometimes it appears it prays to a different God.
@KylePorterCBS @KylePorterCBS great article! Thank you for not shying away from his Jesus-centered answers. I'm not aware of your faith background, but does this make you want to dive deeper into learning more about the Lord who gives Scottie this much perspective?
@KylePorterCBS Larry David did a bit about this on Curb. When he was Jewish he was scared to fly but when he thought he was Evangelical he had no issues flying. Good stuff.
@KylePorterCBS Really good article. Thanks for writing it. Including it in our newsletter today. Also shouting out Normal Sport.
@KylePorterCBS My husband and I were discussing this exact hypothesis while watching today. I said “I wonder if his faith keeps him mentally healthy and more at ease with whatever happens”.
