As BoG buys gold from local producers, it must at the same time get rid of some of its holdings of Gov't securities to reduce the currency issue. Both simultaneous actions are needed to increase the forex cover for the currency issue and boost the strength of the cedi.

@ghanalawhub "Sufficient notice" is still dicey! So the stop work is still A Notice. However the court should take note of special case where the Assembly is unable to trace ownership of a physical development, in this case what then holds

In the UK, the economic crisis has cost the jobs of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, who took responsibility for it. Here, in Ghana, the economic crisis won't cost the jobs of the President or Finance Minister, as it is blamed on external factors. What a contrast!

Our policymakers need to be reminded that the solution to our economic crisis lies here at home and not in Washington. The more they look up to Washington, the longer the uncertainty and panic in the markets will prevail.

The current state of the Accra-Tema motorway is a nationalshame. Using it both ways over the weekend, l got my G-Wagon engine cracked. It will take 20,000gh to replace it and 7,000gh to patch it. If we were in a normal country, the Minister of Roads would be legally liable.
