LZA has special behavior to keep shiny Pokémon from despawning! This looks to be intentional. The game stashes up to 10 shiny Pokémon and keeps them from despawning if you leave the area. Essentially, nonshinies are rerolled but shinies are not, as you can see here in this clip.

PSA for everyone receiving their Switch 2 in the next few days - they are NOT eligible for competition at NAIC! Keep your Scarlet/Violet game and save file on your Switch to make sure you can still compete 👍

A few years ago, I photographed this Mink as it peered from a tunnel it used it travel while under the snow. Seconds after the image was taken the mink disappeared only to resurface from its subway 10 yards away.

I monitor a few bald eagle nests in Vancouver BC 🇨🇦 this is one of my favourites - I always think about how many generations of bald eagles it has raised over the years… the owner of the land this nest is on told me that this nest is about 45 years old ❤️🦅🇨🇦 Delta BC 🇨🇦

An adult Eastern Wild Turkey tom in flight is bathed in late afternoon sunlight. It amazes me to see how agile these big birds are in flight. Some gobblers weigh over 25 pounds.

Hedgehog Cabin @HedgehogCabin

All healthy full sized hedgehogs have hibernated now. They do this because their natural food - caterpillars and beetles - aren't around in the winter. If they didn't hibernate they would die of starvation or of parasite invasion (from being forced through extreme hunger to eat slugs, which contain deadly lungworm). But some hedgehogs were born too late to have grown full sized yet. Some aren't completely healthy (even a little ringworm, quite harmless in an active hedgehog, would quickly overwhelm one in a state of hibernation). These hedgehogs can't attempt hibernation and, as there's no natural food around, they will starve or get very sick if they don't find a kind garden. So please be that kind garden. Dry kitten food that has meat as the first listed ingredient is the perfect food for hedgehogs. Leaving out a dish, alongside a dish of water, will save lives. A simple saucer on the top will stop mice and slugs and cats from accessing the food, and will keep it safe for the hedgehogs.

It was a longer road than we had hoped for Bald Eagle 23-450, who sustained a severe fracture to her left metacarpus (outer portion of her wing) in a vehicle collision. Her treatment was complicated by lead poisoning and feather damage but she is now flying free again!

I spent the past week in Burlington with my cousin Hisham and his friends, who are recovering after being shot. While I was praying for a better outcome, Hisham’s injury turned out to be life-altering. The bullet lodged in his spine has caused paralysis from the chest down. Hisham has a long journey ahead. To help Hisham prepare for this next phase of his life we started a GoFund me page (gofund.me/026fa8da). Witnessing Hisham dealing with this with absolute grace has been mind blowing for me, and I think with your support he’s gonna make the impossible possible.

PSA: If you start charging your console midgame, your console will lose internet connection for a second resulting in a DC. Plug it in before the game or inbetween games.
