Former Education Permanent Secretary, Jonathan Slater told ministers they should rebuild up to 400 schools each year. Government said it would only pay for 100. Officials tried to get it up to 200. Then Rishi Sunak arrived as Chancellor and cut it to 50. Absolutely damning.
