Somewhere right now, a person who has never built anything is writing an article explaining why Elon Musk doesn’t know what he’s doing. They call him a fraud from behind a screen he built the future on. They call him dangerous from a platform he owns. They call him greedy while he pledges $10.5 billion in SpaceX stock to 72 million American children. The man they describe does not exist. The man they ignore just made a car fly. These are people who have never built anything that survived contact with reality. Their entire careers exist in the space between an opinion and a deadline, and they have confused the ability to describe the world with the ability to understand it. He operates in the physical layer of reality. The layer where the math either closes or the rocket doesn’t come home. Where the car either drives itself or it crashes. Where the satellite either reaches orbit or it becomes debris. No opinion survives in that layer. No spin. Just physics and results. He built the vehicle that carries NASA astronauts to the International Space Station. The satellite constellation delivering internet to active war zones. The EV that forced every automaker on Earth to abandon their combustion roadmap. The brain chip that let a paralyzed person control a computer with their thoughts. They say he hoards wealth. He just pledged one SpaceX share from his own holdings to every child in America. 72 million kids. Not a foundation. Not a tax shelter. A direct ownership stake in the company building the future. Those kids now have skin in the game. A reason to care about launches, about engineering, about what gets built next. Not because someone told them to. Because they own a piece of it. The people calling him greedy have given the public nothing but their opinions and the privilege of listening to them. The criticism didn’t escalate because he got worse at engineering. It escalated because he bought X. He cracked open the algorithm. Handed the public square back to the people using it. Broke the power of a small class of gatekeepers to curate reality for everyone else. They spent decades telling the public what to think. He gave them a platform and told them to think for themselves. The meltdown has been dressed up as concern for democracy ever since, but what they are actually mourning is the monopoly. These are the people who lecture about misinformation from newsrooms that retract stories quarterly. Who demand accountability from a man who tests his work in front of the entire planet while they publish behind editorial boards that answer to no one. An engineer puts a rocket on a drone ship and the whole world watches it land or explode. A journalist puts an opinion in a headline and if it’s wrong, nothing happens. No consequence. Just a correction buried where nobody reads it. One of these people is accountable to physics. The other is accountable to their editor. And the one accountable to their editor keeps telling the one accountable to physics that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. They had one advantage. The bottleneck. The ability to stand between the public and the information and decide what got through. Not truth. Access. He didn’t compete with them. He made the bottleneck irrelevant. A rocket doesn’t care about your headline. Gravity doesn’t read your editorial. And the laws of physics have never once adjusted to fit a narrative. They own the words. He owns the work. One of them is going to Mars. The other will write an article about why he shouldn’t.

My post about France went viral. Thousands of likes. Many Americans told me: "Democrats aren't socialists. America will never be France." I want to answer that seriously, step by step. Start with a simple observation. Look at what has gotten cheaper in America over the last 25 years: TVs, phones, software, clothes, toys. Now look at what has exploded: college tuition, healthcare, childcare, housing. What separates the two lists? The first lives in competitive markets. The second is exactly where government is most involved: subsidies, mandates, licensing, zoning, regulation. College. Washington lends students almost unlimited money. Universities know the money will always come, so they raise tuition and hire more administrators. The student pays the bill for twenty years. More government money, higher prices. Housing. Why can't a nurse buy a home in the city where she works? Not because of capitalism. Because of zoning laws, permits, environmental reviews, years of procedure to build a single building. The most expensive places to live in America are the places where it's hardest to build. When building is nearly illegal, prices explode. Healthcare. The patient almost never sees the price. A third party pays, regulations limit who can compete, and costs climb year after year with no one able to say no. So here is the trap. The problems you suffer from are not the failure of free markets. They are the places where the market has already been replaced by the state. And the solution you're being offered is more of the same. That's the Trojan horse. It always works the same way. A real problem. A generous-sounding promise. A program that makes things worse. Then the failure of that program becomes the argument for the next one. People who lived under communism in Poland learned to recognize the lie and the mask the lie wears. The lie never presents itself as a lie. It presents itself as compassion. In France we are at the end of that road. Debt we can never repay. Young people who can't afford a home. Our best people leaving. And every few years our cities burn. Nobody voted for this. They voted for one more generous promise, fifty years in a row. If you're a Republican, share this with the Democrat in your life. Not to win an argument. To start a conversation. If you're a Democrat, I'm not asking you to switch teams. I'm asking you to look at the pattern. Wherever the state took over, life became unaffordable. Don't fix the failures of government with more government. Stay American. Ask for less state, not more.

The results of Kyle Busch's cause of death were released. He started with a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago, he had a cough. He kept racing, because that's what drivers do. It turned into pneumonia. Pneumonia is treatable, 450 million people get it a year. So he kept racing. But then it turned into sepsis. Sepsis can be fatal in a matter of hours. He was in the racing sim when things went badly, they took him from there directly to the hospital. Within 24 hours one of the biggest racing legends was dead at just 41 years old. From something that was treatable, something he raced through. Losing Kyle has been a hard hit to the racing community, reminding everyone how real these drivers are. But now all I keep thinking is how our guys in F1 do the same thing. Motorsport puts tremendous pressure on drivers to compete and show up every week. In the 2022 Monza race weekend, Alex Albon drove through 2 practices Friday, felt terrible, was diagnosed with appendicitis, went into surgery Saturday, something went wrong and caused respiratory failure, then put on a ventilator and into a medically induced coma. ....And 2 weeks later was back racing in Singapore. In 2023, Max Verstappen was sick and missed media day in Saudi Arabia, but came back to drive through all sessions in the race weekend, revealing later he was so sick it felt like he "was missing a lung." Lando in 2024 was so sick in a way that wouldn't go away, he coughed and hacked his way through every single lap on the track for nearly 2 months. This video from Singapore last year, moments before getting in the car for one of the most physically exhausting races of the season he had to sit down on the grid, his team saying he was so sick he looked green. But Lando was fighting for a championship. If he hadn't driven through it, he wouldn't be the 2025 World Champion. And now we've lost the most winningest driver in NASCAR history, holding an all-time record of 234 career victories across the sport's top three national series, because he kept driving. He won a race less than a week before he died. He drove through it. I don't know what we do about that. I don't know what could ever change to make that any less horrifying. But I think its worth talking about. If nothing else, Kyle Busch's legacy deserves it.

Vecchia scuola contro nuovi fenomeni. Poi arriva un giorno come questo. E il rumore della rivalità si spegne di colpo. Rimane solo il suono crudele dell’asfalto che strappa via pezzi di carena, gomme che volano come proiettili, corpi trascinati a oltre 300 km/h. Rimane il silenzio gelido che segue un incidente quando tutti, per un istante, smettono di respirare davanti allo schermo. Alex che centra Acosta in pieno rettilineo, a causa del guasto alla KTM. Di Giannantonio colpito da una ruota impazzita volata via dalla moto di Alex. Zarco trascinato dalla moto di Bagnaia, la gamba intrappolata, il corpo che rotea come una bambola contro la fisica e contro il destino. Marini che corre disperato verso Zarco urlando ed allargando le braccia. Eppure si rialzano. Sempre. Quasi. Con il fiato corto, il dolore nascosto dietro una visiera abbassata e quella dignità feroce che appartiene solo ai piloti veri. Noi li chiamiamo sportivi. Ma questi sono Fenomeni. Spesso dimentichiamo che sono uomini che convivono con la morte ogni singolo weekend. Il Motorsport, soprattutto a due ruote, non è un videogioco lucidato dai social. È una cattedrale costruita sul coraggio umano. Ogni curva è un patto silenzioso: “so cosa rischio, ma apro il gas lo stesso”. Questi ragazzi non combattono soltanto contro gli avversari. Combattono contro paura, istinto, limiti fisici, millisecondi. Contro una velocità che non perdona nulla. Basta una ruota fuori linea, un contatto minimo, una frazione di secondo. E la tragedia è lì, già pronta. Per questo meritano rispetto tutti. Tutti, senza eccezione. Il campione che vince. Quello che arriva decimo. Il rookie impaurito. Il veterano pieno di cicatrici. Il pilota che tifiamo. E soprattutto quello che insultiamo quando perde. Perché quando il casco si abbassa, non esistono più bandiere social, fanbase tossiche o guerre da tastiera. Esistono solo esseri umani che fanno qualcosa che quasi nessuno al mondo avrebbe il coraggio nemmeno di provare. Noi vediamo lo spettacolo. Loro sentono l’odore del rischio. Ed è proprio nei giorni come questo che dovremmo ricordarci una cosa semplice, quasi brutale: ogni volta che partono, stanno mettendo sul tavolo qualcosa che vale infinitamente più di una vittoria. La propria vita. Quindi sì, applaudite tutti. Osannate tutti. Anche il rivale del vostro idolo. Anche chi vi fa arrabbiare. Anche chi cade. Perché oggi siamo stati ancora una volta a pochi centimetri dal trasformare una gara in una tragedia irreversibile. E il fatto che siano usciti “solo con qualche acciacco” non deve anestetizzarci. Deve renderci ancora più consapevoli della grandezza folle di questi uomini. I gladiatori moderni non combattono nelle arene di pietra. Combattono su due ruote, a 350 all’ora, con il ginocchio, il gomito e la spalla sull'asfalto. #MotoGP
