One of the major goals in materials synthesis is to improve electronic properties such as disorder. We used a machine learning methods to study AFM images of 50 real samples combined with 17,000 simulated images to create a ML model for our synthesis: arxiv.org/pdf/2409.17321

Our work is published in PR Research! We successfully made and measured gatemon qubits on InAs 2d electron gases and characterized (many) different loss mechanisms in these circuits. We’re hoping this will pave the way for higher coherence devices based on these materials!

my postdoc work is finally published weak localization is a macroscopic signature of quantum interference (just like the double-slit experiment). An electron in a thin semiconductor can interfere with itself and get more localized or more mobilized.
