🚓Yesterday, officers responded to a welfare check. Dispatch advised that someone had called, and there was a lot of chaos and yelling on the line, to include a male saying “if I’m gonna die, everyone else is going to die”. ⬇️
They were able to locate the area the call came from, and officers responded and were searching for the residence when a male walked out of a home holding a shotgun. He saw officers, backed into the house, returning without the gun. He walked towards officers, and was detained.
Officers then contacted the female involved party, who lead them to the loaded shotgun the male had placed inside. She stated that she and her husband were getting divorced and that he had gone through her phone and became angry at some messages she had received.
When he confronted her, he struck her in the face, which was red and swollen on scene. He also threatened to kill her while holding the aforementioned loaded shotgun. She stated that she tried to call 911, and her husband took her cell phone and threw it, shattering the screen.
Luckily, the call had still gone through, resulting in dispatch being able to hear the commotion and send officers to the location. 🚓🚓🚓
🚓The male was booked into jail for Felony Harassment (DV), Simple Assault (DV), Malicious Mischief (DV) and Interfering with Reporting of Domestic Violence (DV). #GreatJob to all officers on scene, who were able to safely take this man in to custody using #DeEscalationSkills🚨
