Please join me in remembering the 10,000 Cherokee, Chickasaw, and Choctaw men, women and children who perished along the Trail of Tears. Thank you. 💔
“In the 1830s the United States government forcibly removed the southeastern Native Americans from their homelands and relocated them on lands in Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma). This tragic event is referred to as the Trail of Tears. Over 10,000 Native Americans died during removal or soon upon arrival in Indian Territory.”
@LakotaMan1 @oldchuck1147 We have to stop perpetuating wrong. We have created too many deep sorrows already.
There are fringe elements to all things. MAGA advocates I know are interested in keeping their home strong as a wise precedent to changing things globally for the better. Acting out of self imposed weakness in today’s world is not going to be much of an act. The Trail of tears is one atrocity of our past. I am not downplaying the immense loss, or sadness, or mindlessness of “mankind”. I hope one day we will learn to stop the habit of hurting each other. That is the day we all grow beyond our self imposed limitations.
@LakotaMan1 @leyates14 Immigrants, the word illegal didn’t exist back then, but the Genocide on Native Amerikans, it is on you! Please consider every word you speak, think twice, before you judge or condemn Immigrants coming and crossing into this Country!
@LakotaMan1 It would be interesting to find out how many that died were African slaves because they were three of the Five Tribes that owned slaves?
