The Land Report @LandReportCLE

The #Browns are keeping a key piece of their defensive front in Cleveland. DT Maliek Collins has reportedly agreed to a two-year, $30 million extension with $23 million guaranteed. A significant investment in a veteran who has made his presence felt up front. Cleveland continues to prioritize keeping its defensive core intact. #DawgPound

The Cavaliers escape with a 125-121 win over Brooklyn, but there’s still plenty to be concerned about. It’s early, but expectations for this roster are much higher than what we’ve seen so far. The inconsistency is concerning, and I continue to question the decision to bring Kenny Atkinson back. Winning is great. The standard needs to be higher. #LetEmKnow

Nobody said that Shedeur is guaranteed to be a franchise QB. You’re arguing against something I never said. He struggled last year. Nobody is denying that. But acting like seven games tell you everything you need to know about a young QB is ridiculous. Plenty of quarterbacks have looked terrible early in their careers. The Browns are winning games, and he’s getting time to develop. I don’t understand why that’s such a bad thing. You can acknowledge his struggles without pretending his career is already over.

The Browns winning football games while Shedeur Sanders continues to develop is a positive for everyone involved. There’s no reason to rush a young quarterback into action when he has the opportunity to learn, develop his understanding of the offense, and adjust to the NFL. His time will come. Right now, Cleveland can focus on winning while continuing to prepare Sanders for the future. #DawgPound

Writing off a young quarterback before he’s even had a legitimate opportunity to develop is certainly a take. Draft position doesn’t determine a player’s ceiling, and nobody knows what Shedeur Sanders will become. That’s precisely why development matters. Evaluating talent requires more than personal bias.

There’s a difference between developing a quarterback and rushing one onto the field. Nobody is suggesting Shedeur Sanders should sit indefinitely. But Cleveland is winning football games, and allowing a young QB to learn the system, improve his mechanics, and develop without unnecessary pressure isn’t a bad thing. His opportunity will come.

@del_app451 I’m with you.

At 4-2 and sitting atop the AFC North, Cleveland is showing signs of building something meaningful. For the first time in a long time, it feels like the Browns are building toward something sustainable. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but the foundation is beginning to take shape. #DawgPound

Ohio State’s bye week couldn’t have come at a better time. With Julian Sayin sidelined indefinitely, Ryan Day has a crucial opportunity to prepare one of his young quarterbacks for USC. Extra first-team reps, building chemistry with receivers, and adjusting the offense will be huge. The talent is there. This week could determine how the Buckeyes respond to adversity.

It’s only one game, but the questions surrounding Kenny Atkinson are completely justified. Cleveland led by as many as 29 points before halftime and still managed to lose. For a team with championship aspirations, these repeated collapses are concerning. The lack of second-half adjustments continues to be an issue, and Atkinson deserves scrutiny for it. #LetEmKnow

The Cavaliers held a 24-point halftime lead and led by as many as 29, only to watch it disappear in their season opener. It’s one game in an 82-game season, but the questions about this team’s toughness, urgency and ability to handle adversity are legitimate. A concerning start for Cleveland. #LetEmKnow

@joenatoli I understand it’s an 82-game season, but man, some of the same concerns from last year are already showing up. That’s troubling.

There’s plenty to be excited about in Cleveland heading into the new season. Evan Mobley’s continued development, Peyton Watson’s arrival and the emergence of young talent like Jaylon Tyson give this team plenty of upside. The Cavaliers have the pieces to secure a top-three seed in the East, but the ultimate goal is taking that next step in the postseason.

@joenatoli They have to find a way to address these slow starts coming out of halftime. The lack of energy and execution in the third quarter has been a concern, and it’s something that needs to be corrected quickly.

Stephen Vogt isn’t going anywhere. Despite the challenges of being away from his family in Washington, Vogt confirmed he’ll be back managing the Guardians in 2027. Pitching coach Carl Willis will also return.

@Browns @RiddellSports A clean, traditional look that deserves to be in the rotation more often.

I’m truly humbled by the amount of support this page has received in such a short time. To everyone who has followed, shared or engaged with my content, thank you. It means more than you know. I know building something special will be a long journey, but I’m rooted in my faith and genuinely believe this is my calling. My goal is to bring a fresh, independent journalism perspective to Cleveland sports and the Ohio State Buckeyes through quality coverage, thoughtful analysis and a genuine passion for these teams.

@cavs A new season of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball is officially here. Expectations are high for this group, and rightfully so. The talent is there to compete with anyone in the Eastern Conference. Now it’s about consistency, growth and delivering when it matters most.

Chris Henry Jr. has earned a larger role in Ohio State’s offense. His size, athleticism and ability to create mismatches give the Buckeyes another dimension in the passing game. Pairing him with Jeremiah Smith, particularly in the red zone, could help address some of the offensive struggles we’ve continued to see.

Cavaliers basketball is back! A revamped roster, big expectations for Evan Mobley, and plenty of questions surrounding Kenny Atkinson. I expect Cleveland to finish among the East’s top three. But can they finally get over the hump? #LetEmKnow jakehurricane.substack.com/p/cleveland-ca…
