Stepped away from my flashcards briefly for vacation and some technical problems, and as of today, I have 253 to study. Yikes.

I just recently noticed that if I leave my iPhone on a Chinese keyboard, my Apple Watch then wants to use Chinese for text messages, both the canned responses and voice recognition. If it would just translate automatically to English, I could get in a lot more speaking practice.

My prediction is holding true...this may take me a decade. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I'm learning new words and re-reading until I feel comfortable with the text which means I'm going at a snail's pace.

I really hope the author of 全职高手 is just trying to impress readers with his vocabulary in the first paragraph of the first page because if not, I may need 20 years to read this book. "Oh look, there's de5/的. I know that character!"

I've tried to improve my #Chinese by reading kids' books, but I usually lose interest. So I'm switching it up this year. This year, I'm going to attempt to read 全职高手1. Did I say this year? At the rate I'm going so far, I should probably say "this decade."
