Change is pronounced in forecast track for PTC9. Better data in - equals better modeling out. Of note, for me, the model "DeepMind" had ping'ed on this concept of nudge a coast, and float east, and out a few days ago. Facinating. 🖖 We'll see what NHC update holds. #ncwx #scwx

11pm: The National Hurricane Center is starting to favor the idea of Imelda slowing down close to the SC coast on Monday and Tuesday and perhaps not making landfall. Lots of uncertainty remains. If this happens heaviest rain will be closest to the coast with less inland.

If Imelda gets pulled east at the last minute, it won't be a bad storm for us here in the NC Piedmont. If it comes inland and stalls, it will be very wet for a few days. Waiting for more clarity. Timeframe to watch is still Monday PM - Wednesday.

It is maddening that we don't know the path of #Imelda yet - but it makes sense. Two competing forces and a "tug of war" between the inland low and Hurricane Humberto fighting over Imelda. The trends today give Humberto a chance to pull it east again. Here's hoping.
