If you read one thing today, make sure it is this: In a stunning piece published by the head of one of Israel’s most prominent think tanks, Maj. Gen. Tamir Hayman describes the reality of Israel’s new security doctrine: A few crucial principles he describes: 1. The United States is a “declining power” and, given its ongoing social and political shifts, will soon abandon Israel in any event. This is compelling Israel to move toward greater self-reliance in order to avoid “excessive dependence” on the US since it “exposes Israel to the influence of a progressive American value system that is incompatible with Israel’s Jewish character.” Then he concludes: “Severing ties with the United States is therefore not only inevitable, but essential to Israel’s independence and the resilience of its Jewish national identity.” 2. Primacy of Jewish Identity over Democracy: The state’s Jewish identity takes precedence over its democratic system of government. 3. Peace as a Means Rather Than an End: “A meaningful peace agreement is unattainable in the Middle East, as peace agreements are merely technical and temporary arrangements requiring constant reassessment. According to this view, peace is not an intrinsic value that generates security, but a means of achieving other policy objectives.” 4. “Rejection of the Independent Existence of Arab States: The underlying premise is that most Arab states are not genuine nation-states, but collections of tribes and ethnic groups lacking a shared history and a foundational national vision. Consequently, undermining their stability is viewed as a natural process, one that Israel can manage more effectively than it can contend with strong nation-states, and one that it should even encourage.” 5. “War as a Foundational State: War is essential to national security and cannot be replaced by a state of peace, which, as noted, is merely a means rather than an end…. War is necessary, and preventive war is preferable because it secures a significant achievement at the outset.” 6. “Absolute Priority for Initiative and Offense over Defense: Preemptive, surprise strikes are viewed as the only way to achieve victory, giving offense precedence over defense.” And there’s more. Important to note that Hayman does not advocate for this. Rather, he contends that this already is the new security doctrine of Israel. He is describing reality as he sees it. And that reality simply is not compatible with a US or Western alliance with Israel – unless the West transforms into a similar entity that treats war as a permanent and desirable state of being. The situation unfolding right now is the perfect example of why the majority of the American people have either outright rejected or are at least requestioning the US-Israeli relationship. Currently, there is an obvious divergence between the US interests and the goals of the Israeli government. We desperately need a deal to end this disastrous war and save the global economy. Trump obviously wants that at this point and has already said Israel was forbidden from attacking Lebanon. (You may recall every pro Israel account on here claiming this as proof that Trump calls the shots). The ceasefire that the President of the United States of America wants depends on Israel not attacking southern Lebanon. So, Israel announces they’re doing it. The best Trump can say is no boots on the ground and he won’t even hold on that. This is a country whose very survival let alone ability to conduct any of these elective wars is completely dependent on US tax payer money, and support. We unconditionally support them even as they undermine our nation. This is beyond intolerable. You can call all of us every name in the book but it’s just too obvious.

I have been posting and reposting- this is so important! To kill this 11 year old family dog would be shameful and criminal. Please let’s keep this going!

The DA needs to let Lucy come home. She's done more time than many accused murderers. This is already grossly disproportionate to whatever happened last month - an event over in seconds, that hurt nobody, and occurred entirely in my own yard. My own damn yard. She wants this to blow over, but I will not let it. I. WILL. NOT. LET. IT. Not until Lucy is home and the charges are dropped. She no doubt feels like the victim here. I'm sure she doesn't like the bad PR. But there's one victim here: Lucy. The DA can make all of this end by making the right decision to exercise prosecutorial discretion and drop the case. Only a handful of Stasi-like creeps support continued prosecution of this case.
