@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils Protestants teach SS, but Acts 2 states the first Christians “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching” and Paul in 1 Cor states: "I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered to you.” Which is more Scriptural?

@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils Catholics (and Orthodox) highly esteem, revere and love Mary. Protestants disregard Her, some even despise Her. She in Luke 1:48 says "All generations will call me blessed". Which position is more in accord with Scripture?

@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils A fundamental philosophical error inherent to Protestantism is that an individual's judgement is sufficient to determine theological truth. This idea has been expanded out beyond theology to economics, politics, even sexuality, thus the terrible crises of our age.

@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils That's not accurate. As noted in my other comment, there are fundamental commandments that Jesus gave ("if you love me you will do what I command"), which are rejected by Protestants. It is why the Reformation was such a terrible, terrible tragedy.

@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils I know lots of very kind, decent Protestants and I know lots of very sinful Catholics (including myself). I also know Protestantism rejects Jesus' commandment to eat of His flesh, rejects salvation is obtained by faith *and* works, rejects His command to be united, and others.

@FlipperTGibbit @tradcatveils L, what I believe TCV is getting at is the monumental arrogance that Protestantism is based on. For ML, JC and the other reformers to be true, Jesus' promise that the gates would not prevail would have had to take 1,500 years to be effected. 1,500 years of failure...really?

@tradcatveils What a tragedy to think that this is all that Christianity is. They fabricated their own religious system because "The Pope can't tell ME what to believe!!" then they place themselves at the feet of a person who does this sort of thing.

@CDay1492 @pontificatormax But that's the thing....per the statement in the tweet it was done during the Mass itself (in the 'Prayers of the Faithful' I believe), not as part of or lead-up to the homily. I can't imagine any priest who offers the old Mass doing this even in the homily part.

@FlatCath Can't really hold it against them...they're presiding over the community's gathering, and that's what the community is concerned about, so he's being pastoral. The ones that would expect something more of a cardinal and presumably the Cathedral rector have probably already left.

Honestly Fr, what are the Jesuits really fighting for? Dialog? This is true of the wider Church too, to the ruination and loss of millions of souls.

@JosephNollaSJ @OTSOTA @TinaBeattie 2/As for being uncharitable and the SJs having different tactics: What may appear to lack of charity is due to frustration which you cant relate to because you're in the bubble. I reside near a SJ univ which is Catholic only when it asks for money....
