السّلام عليكَ يا صاحبي، إني أُعيذكَ أن تستطيلَ البلاء فتتسخطَ، أو أن تستبعدَ الفرجَ فتيأسَ، فتكون كالذين يعبدون الله على حرفٍ، إذا رأوا من الله ما يُحبون رضوا، وإن رأوا ما يكرهون سخطوا! يا صاحبي كُلّ شيءٍ يجري بقدر الله، وبتوقيتٍ معلوم لا نُدرك حكمته، لو استخرجَ اليتيمان كنزهما قبل أن يبلغا أشدهما، لضاع المال وما انتفعا به! في كل تأخيره خيرة نحن لا نعلمها! هذه الدنيا دار امتحان يا صاحبي، والله ناظرٌ إلى قلبكَ، فإذا نزلَ بكَ ما تكره، أو تأخر عنكَ ما تُحب، فلا يكُن في قلبك إلا الرضا، فلا شيء أبغض إلى الله من أن يرى سخطاً من عبده على قدره! أحياناً تتأخر الأمنيات يا صاحبي، لأنكَ لم تنضج بعد لتحافظ عليها، وتتأخر لأن تسليماً في قلبكَ لم يكتمل بعد، وتتأخر بذنبٍ أنت مقيم عليه، فيريدُ الله منكَ أن تعطيه أولاً ليعطيك ثانياً! وتتأخر لأنكَ لم تأخذ بما يكفي من السبب، وقد لا تأتي أبداً، لأن الخير في أن لا تأتي، فأحسِنْ الظن بالله! والسّلام لقلبكَ
