Here is my South African guide to avoiding crime. A few general tips to being safer in one of the most dangerous countries in the world... 1) Know your neighbors. 2) use a private security company and get to know their employees well. 3) Try to ensure people cannot easily see into your home or property. Walls and solid gates are best. 4) Have multiple large dogs. That sleep inside your house. Not just for physical protection but also as an early warning system. 5) Light your property well and ensure vegetation is well cut back, not just inside your property but on also the outside perimeters too. (No hiding spots) 6) Be aremed but don't let anyone know your armed (guns can make you a target). 7) Have some community whatsapp group that helps inform you of crime in the area and can be notified in an emergency. 8) Know the cops contact but understand that they won't be in a rush to get to you so always have a panic button linked to private security if possible. 9) When pulling into your driveway. 🚗 Don't just pull in... Always check for following cars or people near your entrance. 10) Avoid driving at night as much as possible. 11) If you have to stop at traffic lights always leave space to move incase you are hijacked. 12) Have a panic button tracker in your car. 13) Always check a route before driving it, if you are unfamiliar with the area. You do not want to get lost is a bad area or stuck on the side of the road... its a quick way to get hijacked. 14) Don't wear flashy things that would make you a target. 15) When going out in crowded areas. Only buy resealable drinks and don't keep your belonging (phone or wallet) visible or in open pockets. 16) Don't walk in malls or parking lots while on your phone. Remain awear of your surroundings. 17) Never trust strangers. No matter how unsuspecting they may seem. Especially around situations that involve any payment activity or interaction with card or cash. Please feel free to share this post and encourage safer decisions or add more tips in the comments 😊.
@Saxon_African Why not push for policies that will authentically pull Black people out of poverty so we don’t have to come shop in your fridge?
Maybe because I'm an individual and not a government official... PS I never voted for either idiot party that destroyed SA. You seem extremely irrational believing individuals can really do anything... I hire people. I bet that's already more than you do... but you will sit there all jealous and want them to confiscate my business, my property and even cheer when someone who looks like me gets killed. You Want them to tax me and my employees into poverty so they can have more access to private money only to squander it on their private homes... Your profile says your have a PHD but you show an inability to think critically. Unfortunately it's never been about shopping in a fridge. Your rape rates are out of control. You murder each other at alarming rates. You drink and drug more than anyone else...And you support corrupt governments. You can no longer be considered victims... Because you are the masters of your own destiny and you chose to support communism.
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African Yeah, like vote for the ANC!
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African This comment is on par with “we don’t need farmers because we buy our food from the grocery store.”
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African Wait. You mean the policies that our ANC govt has instituted are not good enough, we need white people to help us out with some policy ideas?
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African Did I miss the bit where there wasn't an ANC government to pull the black people out of poverty?
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African Gimme Gimme Gimme 😂😂😂 Entitled and so funny
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African The power is in your hands to bring on change, your'e the majority.
@Lephutshe @Saxon_African The ANC has been doing this since they came into power.
