This makes me so sad. Architecture is art. I guess if someone sells it to you, you can do whatever with it, but it’s historic and you’re rich. Maybe buy a different house?

One of my best friends tried to buy the 50s Florida cottage she was renting and was turned down. Whoever bought it knocked it down and built a giant zero lot line monstrosity. Tragic.

@LeslieStreeter A house built in 50’s isn’t always livable due to the age. Was the house livable?
@LeslieStreeter Probably wanted the land, to live in that neighborhood, or wanted the view?
@LeslieStreeter I’m thinking that the family/estate knew full well they were just buying the land and that they were going to demolish it. They didn’t have to sell it to them.
