I do not understand how or why the 15 minute city/20 minute neighbourhood concept has been so controversial in the UK? It’s a brilliant idea. It’s freedom in your local area. What’s not to love? Annoyingly it’s now a political football issue.

@LessWasteLaura Are you happy that some folk will be penalised if they need more than the days allocated where they are allowed to leave their area of confinement. If these folk aren't wealthy, do you believe enforced confinement is appropriate. Personally. I hate it when liberty is removed.
@LessWasteLaura Having amenities within walking distance is great Artificially enforcing this with fines and taxes without changing the surrounding circumstances is not
@LessWasteLaura Because people need to move around and do things.
@LessWasteLaura Yay! Let's keep the elderly and disabled in their homes, make it nigh-on impossible for them and anyone with young kids to do the weekly shop, and smugly breeze past those struggling on our well-maintained bicycles because we are fit, well and wealthy.
@LessWasteLaura It was hijacked by the far right/conspiracy theorists. Post the covid lockdowns they started saying that 15 minute cities meant you would be locked into your zone and not allowed out. It was fuelled by social media and now we are where we are.
