Whitening gels are clear, peroxide-based gels applied with a small brush directly to the surface of your teeth.
According to the FDA, the term "bleaching" is permitted to be used only when the teeth can be whitened beyond their natural color.
Whitening toothpastes can help remove surface stains only and do not contain bleach.
A Bachelor of Oral Health is the most common degree program for Dental Hygienists in Australia.
Over-the-counter teeth whitening cost: $20 to $100.

Around 700BC, Etruscans in northern Italy made dentures out of human or other animal teeth.
Take-home teeth whitening kit cost: $100 to $400.
Some whitening toothpastes contain gentle polishing or chemical agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness.
Whitening toothpastes can lighten the tooth's color by about one shade.
Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy, unrestored teeth (no fillings) and gums.
Whitening strips are very thin, virtually invisible strips that are coated with a peroxide-based whitening gel.
With in-office bleaching, the whitening product is applied directly to the teeth.
Removable partial dentures are for patients who are missing some of their teeth on a particular arch.
Dental hygienists in the United States must be graduates from a dental hygiene program.
Take-home kits incorporate an easy-to-use lower-concentration peroxide gel that remains on the teeth for an hour or longer.
