Dear @Loyola_Alumni, my most favorite piece of swag ever (circa 2010-ish?) has seen better days. She's generated so many convos about the amazing education I received and how it led me to being a person for others! Can you print a second edition? I'd pay handsomely! ❤️

Are you a VA employee who has been terminated from your position since January 20th? If you're comfortable sharing your experience, please follow the link below to share your story. This will help inform the Committee’s oversight of VA and help us better understand the full scope of recent administrative actions that are negatively impacting veterans, VA employees, and their families. forms.office.com/pages/response…

#RamblerRally has been a great success! Thanks to everyone who donated to @LoyolaChicago's Washington, DC program! It's not too late to give and help make current students' dreams come true! Donate here: tinyurl.com/245vm7y9

#RamblerRally is just five days away! This year, I'm supporting LUC in DC, @LoyolaChicago's Washington, DC program. I know I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't had the opportunity to study and intern in DC as an undergrad. Who's with me? Donate here: tinyurl.com/245vm7y9

In Reversal, Defense Department Now Wants to Bring Tricare Beneficiaries Back to Military Health Note: those "ambitious private-sector care capacity assumptions" were simultaneously being made by those pushing to outsource more VA care. 1/ buff.ly/3S95U1X

Today marks one year since RM @RepMarkTakano Veterans COMPACT Act was implemented! Since January 17th, 2023, the bill has provided 50,000 veterans with life-saving services. If you are a veteran facing a mental health crisis please dial 988 & press 1.

So, so proud to see the difference @RepMarkTakano's Veterans COMPACT Act is making! Nearly 50,000 veterans used free emergency suicide prevention in first year of program, VA says cbsnews.com/news/veterans-… via @CBSPolitics

We continue to work, day in and day out, in service of the American people. We are also still working side-by-side with people who supported and tried to enable a self-coup.

It's been three years, and I'm still trying to process what happened. Public servants on Capitol Hill still have no strong and unifying representation to support us-- regardless of the side of the aisle on which we serve.

I don't post very often, but on the eve of the Jan. 6 anniversary, this is an important read.

Our Committee has two bills that need action now to help our most vulnerable veterans. To quote RM @RepMarkTakano "We can afford to do this. We must do this."

Today, Republicans voted down nine amendments that would have restored due process rights for dedicated VA employees. HR 4278, the Attack on VA Workforce Act, will lead to the same outcomes as the deeply flawed 2017 law—more costly litigation over questions of constitutionality.

The Constitution and due process were frequent subjects of debate at last week’s hearing on access to firearms. We're hoping to hear the same type of engagement on HR 4278, the Attack on VA Workforce Act, a bill that would strip due process rights from civil servants.

VA’s overall accountability may be strengthened by better ensuring the right employee is hired for the right job, improving performance management processes, and improving leadership stability. HR 4278 will not have the intended effect of holding bad-apple employees accountable.

Thanks to @UWMadison for the much-needed desk coaster upgrade, as well as tonight's UW- Madison on the Hill reception! I topped it all off with a #DayoftheBadger donation to @UWLaFollette. I wouldn't be where I am today without the Wisconsin Idea and my UW- Madison education! ❤️

I placed my online order 17 days ago, which is well outside the original delivery estimate of "two to ten days." This really isn't fair to the girls or troops we're buying from online, in terms of customer service. Please improve your supply chain management next year, GSUSA!

This seems....odd. Are we SURE the holdup is the Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties I ordered, and NOT the Raspberry Rallies that were only available for one day online? 🤔 Sorry, @girlscouts, but as a Gold Awardee, former Brownie leader, and armchair economist, I'm.... skeptical.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, @American_Girl. Wait. Are there no BOOKS to accompany these "historical" dolls that are YOUNGER than I am?! What. The. Heck???

Welp, I guess it's all downhill from here.... They've now made "historical" American Girl dolls that are YOUNGER than I am!! Me! Someone who vividly remembers devouring the original books about Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly, circa 1989. 😲

I only wish @Amtrak had such strong on-time performance as Ukranian Railways. Of course, as the daughter of a freight railroader and as a federal policy wonk, I'm well aware of why passenger rail in the U.S. is less efficient than in Europe... but one can always hope!
