Tanakh Perspective @LightofTorah

@rohorobert @muslimorthodoxy Daniel 9 mentions two anointed ones. The first is Cyrus, king of Persia, as Isaiah 45:1 explicitly calls him God’s anointed. The second is the last high priest who is killed, an anointed one from the priesthood. The Christian interpretation does not follow from the text.

@rohorobert @muslimorthodoxy Do you think every word “messiah” reference to the Messiah? 😊

@King985962 @muslimorthodoxy Jews have always longed for the Messiah during foreign occupation and suffering. That has nothing to do with Daniel 9. If Daniel 9 truly predicted the exact time of Jesus’ arrival, Paul and the Gospel writers would surely have cited it as proof. Yet not one of them does!

@King985962 @muslimorthodoxy Your argument is embarrassingly shallow. Daniel 9 speaks of two anointed figures, Cyrus and the last high priest, not Jesus. The donkey symbolizes peace, but Zechariah 9:10 demands an end to warfare. Jesus failed to accomplish it. Riding a donkey doesn’t make anyone the Messiah.

@muslimorthodoxy Muhammad is nowhere foretold in the Tanakh. You’re seeing prophecies that aren’t there like a delusion. God explicitly promises a king from David’s line (Jeremiah 23:5 and Ezekiel 37:24). Kings were anointed; that’s why we call him the Messiah. Stop displaying your ignorance.

@__Frton @_Ochiedike You’re attacking a caricature of God. Dietary laws were given specifically to Israel, not every person on earth (Leviticus 11). And where does God declare the murder of innocent people morally acceptable? You’re confusing divine judgment with the approval of murder.

@__Frton @_Ochiedike You’re confusing ritual impurity with hygiene. Leviticus 11 never claims pigs are scientifically dirty or their meat is inherently unsafe. These are religious dietary distinctions, not scientific claims.

@__Frton @_Ochiedike “It’s based on ancient myths” is not an argument; it’s an intellectually lazy dismissal. You haven’t addressed a single point I made. If you cannot distinguish ritual impurity from moral evil, perhaps you should understand the text before pretending to refute it.
