ERP “best practice” often assumes firms have the capacity to afford ideal implementation conditions and hence, prescribes the conditions. That may suit large enterprises—but for SMEs, the real question is not what they can do for ERP, but what ERP can do for them.

Privacy is my major concern, too. Otherwise, I believe GPT would be a great assistant to accountants, so long as we review the result. Black box is no issue as we do not know how the brains of our human assistants make decisions, either. So we REVIEW their jobs.

Agree. Although caring and career planning matters, money is an important signal to convince the accountants that they are in the right track.

Totally agree. Traditional accounting practice was based on general assumptions without much domain knowledge in each field.

As China is leaving the global capital market, the pay-off for the government to maintain a public accounting profession is also diminishing. It could be expected that the accounting para-profession in China will face another extinction.
