NYC has been wrongly exempted from State law requiring daylighting. We need to make every intersection, every block, and every neighborhood safe for all New Yorkers.

This announcement is an important first step by @NYC_DOT. There are 40k intersections citywide & we need to implement daylighting across the City.

Far too many crashes from vehicles turning at intersections cause tragic fatalities & serious injuries. We wrote a letter urging @NYC_DOT to implement universal daylighting to improve pedestrian visibility by removing parking spaces immediately adjacent to crosswalks. twitter.com/kduggan16/stat…

Along w/ @NydiaVelazquez, @CMRestler, @BKBPReynoso + @SenGonzalezNY, we wrote to @NYC_DOT urging full implementation of the McGuinness Blvd redesign approved by @NYCMayor in May. While we appreciate progress on the bike lane, no improvements have been made for pedestrian safety.

Constituents in Bedford Gardens in South Williamsburg brought us a safety concern-- cars were speeding down a pedestrian zone endangering children playing at a nearby playground. We worked with the management to get a Stop sign & a Children at Play sign installed.

Kicking people out of shelters and making them stand in the cold for days is unacceptably cruel. We need answers from @nycemergencymgt as to why people can’t be let inside while they wait for housing.hellgatenyc.com/migrants-cold-…
