We can’t engage in an honest conversation about men’s mental health today and the alarmingly high male suicide rate without discussing how society has turned men into a punching bag over the past few decades. I believe there is a correlation here.
@LisaBritton You are probably right. My study of 4,000 men found thinking masculinity is bad for you is correlated with worse mental wellbeing centreformalepsychology.com/male-psycholog…
@LisaBritton men are lonely bc they’re genuinely unbearable to be around
@LisaBritton And we can't talk about how men have become punching bags until we talk about how men have used women as punching bags and continue to, even in this day and age.
@LisaBritton I disagree, holding men accountable for their actions is not making them a punching bag. The BS of “well boys will be boys” or “it’s a man’s world” those days are long gone and soon the patriarchy will be gone also.
@LisaBritton Men need struggle, a king to follow, a war to wage, an empire to build. The "mental health issues" would vanish overnight if these were in place
@LisaBritton I agree. Society needs to first accept responsibility for what they caused.
@LisaBritton No question that the status of men has decreased and it has contributed to negative outcomes. The biggest question is does anyone care? I used to think mothers of sons would care, but now I read that the biggest concern of mothers of sons is that their sons treat girls well.
@LisaBritton Conventional masculinity is outdated and demonized. Men want to fit in and be loved, so they don't know how to be men any more. Most just grow hipster beards. It's less extreme than self-harm.
@LisaBritton As a Mother of boys and a filmmaker, I make it my mission to raise awareness of the agenda to emasculate males. youtu.be/izltH-mjyms?si… youtu.be/6wA8BmgUylw?si…
