$21,983,139.93 for ten years of Axon gear in one Florida police department. That's what Lakeland has committed to pay Axon, the Taser company, per the city commission memo. The bundle pairs body cameras with an AI that drafts the officer's report. Year one is already $124,547.01 short. The city covers that gap by cutting overtime spending, so officers' extra hours pay for part of the start. Grants pay a big share. A state grant pays toward years one and two, and a federal stipend has already landed. A second federal grant, for years three to five, is still pending, and grants pass half the ten-year bill only if it comes through. Call it about $79,000 per unit over ten years, if the unit is one of the roughly 278 officers the Lakeland Gazette counted. Somebody's getting paid, and it's a lot per badge. The commission passed it unanimously on October 5. What breaks first is that pending grant. If it doesn't come, the city either finds the money or uses the contract's exit for unfunded years. If you run a department, this is the deal shape vendors will bring you next: priced as one bundle over a decade, with grants doing the early lifting. Watch year three. If that grant lands, expect neighboring cities to sign the same bundle within a year.

@GDMS Mach 5 on one board, priced per unit or per upgrade?

Elon and Optimus cut a track. Who filmed it? This is Real Or Rumor. Optimus plays the keys while Elon performs, then both sprint off a white set. To me it reads as AI video. No source I know of says it was shot for real. Tech keeps surprising me, and still, Elon, you just became my favorite performer again. If your real robots can do this with you, you're the number one trend on the planet by morning. @elonmusk, challenge is yours. Run that sprint with a real Optimus, one take.

You need eyes inside a border tunnel nobody should walk into, so your agency buys robot dogs, each priced at about $326,000. ICE committed $1,304,296 for a set of customized Spot robots, per its federal award record. Spot listed at $74,500 when it went on sale in 2020. That's more than four times the sticker. Follow who pays whom and the check isn't even made out to Boston Dynamics. It goes to RADeCO, a Connecticut reseller loading each dog with cameras, radiation, gas and explosive sensors, and an arm. Model: per unit, and a unit here means a robot plus everything RADeCO bolted onto it. Scripps News counts four dogs in the order. No money has moved yet and the contract period ends Nov. 24, but the whole $1.3 million is locked in, not a maximum. That's a real check. This configured package went sole source after ICE ruled the only other responder not technically acceptable, so nobody bid it down. If you integrate sensors, register first, because federal agencies pay for the payload and the paperwork. In this deal the dog's 2020 list price, $74,500, was the cheap part.

@shukshln @diamai_ and the model still won't know "charming" means the roof leaks

@shukshln yes. the receipt is public now, rivals finally know what to undercut

$148,845.50 robot chemist drew exactly one bidder. A Department of Energy lab signed for a North Robotics N9 on Sept. 28, fixed price, per its federal award record. North Robotics is a small company out of Victoria, British Columbia. It got a federal robot order by being the only one who showed up. The N9 is an arm on a deck about the size of a desk. It caps sample vials and pipettes liquid, the repetitive bench work people in lab coats otherwise do by hand. North Robotics sells it per unit: the lab buys the machine once, owns it and runs its own experiments on it. Since North Robotics posts no prices, this award record is the closest thing to a public one. The listing asked for "brand name or equal to North Robotics." Any rival whose machine met the same specs could have bid. Nobody did, so the whole amount is committed to one vendor, though none of it has been paid out yet. If you sell automation, you can search SAM gov today for "brand name or equal" plus your product category. Every one of those listings names the machine you'd have to match. Call it a forecast. Now that the price is public, the next lab-robot listing like this gets two bids, and $148,845.50 becomes the ceiling everyone prices under.

@andreysuperior 10,000 decisions for 42 cents. Superior's latte has entered the chat. ok I'm in

@GuessWhichHalf dancing robots, who cares, show me real work

@shukshln fair catch. order's real, steel line's my opinion. check back in 2027

About $1.2 billion just bought 30 Navy ships with nobody on board. The US Navy ordered 30 crewless ships from three builders: Saronic, HII and Galliano Marine Services. Call it $40 million a ship on average, and these are production orders. Somebody's getting paid, and the list is odd. HII builds America's aircraft carriers. Saronic is a Texas startup that says it took its Marauder from design to water in under a year. The Navy isn't buying code here. It buys a hull with the autonomy already inside, priced per ship, and pays for production rather than prototypes. If you build autonomy software, that's how the biggest buyer on the water wants to pay, so price per finished boat or partner with somebody who welds. Software margins don't survive a steel bill. Saronic's contract is firm fixed price, meaning it eats any cost overrun, so Saronic just agreed to learn that on its own dime.

@KostyaAI medium-size, not small. Navy calls them MUSVs, and these are production orders

@0xKravn exactly. and at a fixed price, late costs Saronic, not the Navy

@DN_degen somebody's getting paid here: the sub who owns one and rents it out

@kenonews spiral looks best, but the price tag under each build is the real benchmark

Nineteen dancers lost their masks, and they were robots. This is Real Or Rumor. The robots are real, Unitree H2s at the WorldSkills opening ceremony in Shanghai. "Autonomous" is the half I'm not buying yet. Some of them waltzed with women from the cast. Hand in hand, no safety cage. China's state broadcaster CGTN called it the first autonomous group dance by full-size humanoids. I went looking for what autonomous meant here. The show's executive director, quoted in the German press, described how it was built: 790 sets of recorded human dance motion. Each robot found its own spot on stage with onboard lidar, no outside tracking system, and nobody I found disputes that. The steps are another story. I'd call them learned from those recordings and performed by a body, not invented on the spot. Development had a dumber problem. Inside those costumes the temperature hit 176 degrees Fahrenheit in about ten minutes, and the robots' systems crashed. Unitree went public in Shanghai in August, so a stage like this is also a sales pitch. Nothing points to a remote or a fake. But if knowing where your feet are counts as autonomous, plenty of robot vacuums already qualify.

Say you run trucks out of Dallas and your driver costs you about $1.03 a mile. Aurora just priced its driverless version at 85 cents or more. Right now Aurora owns and runs its trucks, and customers like McLane, Werner and Hirschbach pay it around $2 a mile with fuel surcharge to haul their loads. About two dozen trucks run Texas and Southwest lanes, and Q2 came in at $2M of revenue against a $270M net loss. The 85 cents is the next setup, called Driver-as-a-Service: the truck is yours and you pay Aurora per mile instead of paying a driver. CFO David Maday put that price out at the company's investor day on Sept 23. The $1.03 is wages and benefits from ATRI, the trucking industry's own cost research group. 85 cents is the starting price, so the most you save versus paying a driver is 18 cents a mile. Aurora says one driverless truck logs 225,000 miles a year, which makes it up to about $40,000 per truck per year before insurance. The investor day headline was 30,000 trucks by 2030. That's a forecast, and the quarter underneath it did $2M. Hirschbach's plan for 500 driverless trucks is a non-binding memorandum, and a memo isn't a check. The 18 cents is the small part. A truck that doesn't sleep runs about twice the miles of one with a driver by Aurora's count, so keeping the truck moving is where the real money sits. Aurora also just pushed back the point where its trucking revenue covers the direct cost of running the trucks, from the end of 2026 to the first half of 2027. For a fleet, that makes this a 2027 business. If you run a Texas lane, ask Aurora how many miles a week it will guarantee one truck moves, then hold that next to your $1.03.

@meet_rosey margin's real, sure. Homes are a pitch until somebody signs a lease

One customer covers 94% of this robot company's revenue. Somebody is getting paid to run robots across casino floors, and the check clears. MBody AI has traded on Nasdaq as MBAI since September 16, after a reverse merger into a listed medical device company closed in August alongside a $10 million raise priced at $6.50 a share. It did $2,334,921 of revenue in 2025. The audited statements filed with the SEC put it plainly. One external customer accounted for roughly 94% of that, about $2.2 million. The prospectus tells the same fact differently, naming two enterprise customers, MGM and Caesars, with no percentage attached. MBody builds no robots at all. It leases third-party machines into a property, charges a fixed monthly fee per deployed robot, and runs the fleet through its own orchestration software. Lease revenue was $2.21 million of the $2.33 million total. Cost of revenue was $1.05 million against $1.29 million of gross profit. Call it 55% gross margin on hardware it never had to build. You don't need to own anything to charge rent on it. The company also cleared $507,851 of net income in 2025, and its operating cash flow was still negative. The filing says both, without dressing either one up. Yesterday MBody put out a release about scale. Eleven states plus Canada, roughly 600 million square feet serviced to date, an orchestrator that now runs fleets from several manufacturers, and the Mohegan Sun pilot that turned into a paid contract back on September 9. All of it sitting on a revenue line where one logo is 94% of it. The piece worth copying is the lease itself. Own the scheduling layer, buy no hardware, bill per machine per month, and let the property carry the floor space. That structure produced $2.2 million off a single account last year. The 55% is company-wide gross margin, so treat it as a ceiling and not a promise. The bet I would take settles with the next annual report. One customer still above 80% of revenue and the growth slides stop mattering. One property group, one email, and the whole line goes.
