LiveWorkPlay commemorates International Transgender Day of Visibility: International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) occurs every year on March 31st. This day is dedicated to celebrating transgender people, their contributions to society and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. We are sharing the statement of the Interim Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission, Charlotte-Anne Malischewski, and the Federal Housing Advocate, Marie-Josée Houle, as just one example of the critical intersectionality of human rights and core social justice issues. chrc-ccdp.gc.ca/en/resources/j… At LiveWorkPlay the contributions of transgender people are seen through individuals we are honoured to support, who are great neighbours, co-workers, teammates, and friends, as well as through the lives of volunteers and staff. Citizenship is at the core of the LiveWorkPlay community and transgender people continue to face many serious barriers that exclude them and make their lives unsafe. Our efforts to reduce exclusion and promote inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities and autistic persons is not separate from other human rights movements - we all share the same goal of a society where everyone is valued and included.
