As Canada's big banks hit record highs, perhaps shed a tear for another US short-seller, whose macro fund seems to be underperforming the S&P 500 by 31% YTD. Those hedges can be very prickly. Perhaps invite them back on BNN? bnnbloomberg.ca/video/canada-s…

$CM.CA is the most Canadian of all the CDN banks and is trading a full P:E multiple below its peers with a dividend over 5.25%. How much growth do you need with a yield 350 bps over 10 yr?

This sweet little bank branch has been in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia for 112 years. I really think non-Canadians do not understand the durability and competitive advantage of the big CDN banks. Not going anywhere

We have never been fans of $CM.CA but the stock is just yelling "CHEAP" today after solid earnings and a dividend increase. Major Canadian bank selling at about 8x forward earnings with an untouchable dividend of 5.75%. I expect to be see some institutional buying.

I’m a buyer of fear. I’m a buyer of panic. I’m a buyer of capitulation. Right now feels like all 3. January 2016 is when I killed it and this feels very similar. Putting 15% cash to work this afternoon. #OOTT

Pretty much every interest-sensitive stock on the $TSX.CA is up today, which makes sense. Who wouldn't want a tax-preferred 4% dividend compared to a fully taxed 2% on a bond? The CDN banks, telcos, pipelines and utilities offer great non-cyclical yields that tend to grow.

@BarrySchwartzBW I’m a CM holder with a $10 markup sell order so nobody can borrow my shares to short. Oops just expired will set it for another month on Monday. LoL

Anybody remember an interview on BNNBloomberg with a hedge fund in Denver that was shorting CDN banks? How did that work out? Fund seems to have stopped publishing results after a -13% January. Is #Crescat still in business or just decided to stop talking? crescat.net/wp-content/upl…

Why do I welcome Justin Trudeau’s lawsuit? 1) Because he will finally be forced to testify under oath. 2) He will not be able to shut down the proceedings like he has in Parliament. Canadians will finally get the answers they deserve.
