Today I received from Rt Hon @AnitahAmong a personal contribution of UGX5m towards rescue of starving people in parts of Karamoja. This 5m will go to some HHs in the most hit districts ASAP. This is handy as we wait for processes for turning 135b into food. Ayeyeit Eyalama noi.

Last week Karamoja leaders met the president. The outcome was a largely an incoherent and roughshod 'security strategy' for Karamoja lacking in detail. More stakeholders need to be involved in the development of actions for security and peace in the region. #karamojalivesmatter

Amidst increased deployment of UPDF and fire fighting equipments in the region, raids are continuous with minimal recoveries and loss of lives. Residents of Lorengedwat this morning block the bridge in a protest calling upon government to urgently respond #karamojalivesmatter

The proposed university in Moroto should start right away as an independent university and not a Constituent College of Gulu University. The same was true for Lira University, Muni University, Soroti University etc. Why should Moroto/Karamoja be the exception?

In Kiryandongo, the COVID-19 Relief Funds meant to benefit the vulnerable persons, is still in the District Account up to now. This sluggishness and incompetence in the Civil Service must STOP.

The Uganda Police and other security forces including Hon. @anandutu have in recent weeks pointed guns at #KOT tweeps in the region for highlighting the #KaramojaLivesMatter security problem in Karamoja. We are out to end the murderous conspiracy of silence and won't stop.
