Our PVI sector is underfunded, over scrutinised and vilified by way too many ‘regulatory’ bodies. If we were given anywhere near the funding levels councils grab for themselves #equalpayforequalplay there would be no quality gap developing.

@scotgov @HumzaYousaf Start by ensuring the funding follows the child for 1140 and your public servants don't top slice the children who don't use LA provision. It's an easy way to demonstrate equity, love and respect, but no you let LA's abuse the families and workers in the PVI!

This is totally unsustainable for both, nurseries and parents. A ‘truly’ sustainable funded childcare rate is the only fair solution

Well, new FFTC operating Guidance is out 🫣 frustrating word soup around PVI ‘sustainability’ our competitors still have full control of our finances 🤷🏻‍♂️ there is zero commitment to uplift funding rates annually in line with inflation/cpi/RLW increases 🤷🏻‍♂️ therefore, unsustainable

@elc1140 Another farce! LA’s just shelf it & do what they want! Hearing today @EDCouncil just sailed the PVI up the river at Ed committee! The increase due Aug 23 just agreed. 2% whilst EDC & @RonaMackaySNP refuse to meet or answer an email from desperate providers! Shameful @ELCScotGov

Humza Yousaf was clear during the SNP leadership race that there needs to be fair funding for private and voluntary nurseries, but since then he has dodged the issue. I pressed him again today but he wouldn’t recommit to bringing forward a fair funding formula.

@willie_rennie This is a national disgrace, 32 different ‘values’ put on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 children who attend PVI nurseries, plus a whole different level of bias towards those who attend council nurseries. If @HumzaYousaf fails to intervene urgently it will be the start of his downfall.
