@paulbiagi I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage is even higher for writers. Authors seem to attract all sorts of accounts, so I can understand why checking profiles before following back has become necessary. It's unfortunate, though, that it's gotten to that point.

I'm not sharing this to attack anyone or encourage negativity. I just want people to understand that there's another side to this situation. At the end of the day, we're all human beings trying to make something meaningful out of what we do.

But I deserve that same respect in return. A bad experience with one marketer shouldn't become a reason to mistreat every other marketer you encounter.

Sometimes, we're genuinely interested in their work, their stories, and building meaningful professional relationships. I'm a freelancer, and I'm building my business through genuine connections. I respect authors, their boundaries, and their decisions,

But why should I be insulted for something I know absolutely nothing about? If something happened, she could have simply explained it to me instead of assuming I was involved. Not everyone who connects with an author is trying to sell them something.

or why I was suddenly being dragged into it. I understand that some authors have had terrible experiences with marketers. Some have been pressured, disrespected, or constantly approached by people trying to sell them services. And I genuinely understand how frustrating it is.

sent me a screenshot of a conversation involving another marketer, rained insults on me, and blocked me before I could even understand what was going on or explain myself. I was honestly confused because I had no idea what had happened between her and those marketers

We had a good conversation, and everything seemed fine. I never pitched any of my services to her, never pressured her to buy anything, and never tried to sell her anything. Then today, out of nowhere, she came into my DM,

I usually don't bring situations like this to social media, but this particular experience really caught me off guard. Jessica and I actually started on a good note. I connected with her because she's an author, and I was genuinely interested in learning more about her writing

@RubySolaceAuth Congrats on your book 🎉 The idea actually sounds really interesting. Quick question, have you thought about using a short cinematic trailer for it? They’ve been working really well for grabbing attention lately. I can share a quick example if you’re curious.
