There are legendary people in sports, and Tara VanDerveer is one of the very best. A coach who kept growing, learning, listening to players. She always wanted the best for them and for WBB. Hard to think of @StanfordWBB without Tara, but her stamp remains forever on the Cardinal.
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB Always respected TV and her program/teams, albeit w/ a healthy dose of "hate". 😜 An obvious legend who WCB will sorely miss. I CURSE college football and the conference mayhem for which it is solely responsible. #ScrewCFB @chiney @Espngreeny @Tyler_Fulghum @carlosalazraqui
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB What a week. We are losing Tara, and Tennessee hired a JV coach.
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB Very well said Mike. I brought my high school team to her camps in the late 80s. After retiring from coaching, I’ve been a fan & attended hundreds of games at Maples, NCAAs, and Final Fours. So grateful to watch her dedication for growing the game and standard of excellence!
@MAVoepel @SarahSpain @StanfordWBB Another fallout from the PAC 12s demise. Have to think this played a big role in her decision
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB Her stamp extends beyond Palo Alto to the whole world.
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB How do you explain all the travel time to the parents of a straight A recruit? Two days of missed classes? Flying to Blacksburg mid week when you’re 70? No thank you. Tara you’re a legend. Enjoy life! You deserve it!!!
@MAVoepel @StanfordWBB RIP Pac12. No one wants to fly across the country to South Carolina on a Wednesday
