I wonder how far the march of self-ID through institutions has been facilitated simply by staff being visibly upset. I know of one case where a manager ended up comforting a tearful staff member *because **the manager** was about to meet someone the staff member disagreed with.*
@LucyHunterB I know of a case where the Board didn't correct their Equality Monitoring Form because a staff member who was sitting in on the meeting started to cry. AFAIK it remains uncorrected to this day, so no data for sex is collected to monitor fairness in the org and its activities.
@MagiGibson @LucyHunterB Was this a male staff member? Just asking because it seems unlikely that any notice would be taken of a female person crying.
@MagiGibson @LucyHunterB A few years ago I wrote a report on gender id and balancing children’s rights. A children’s charity published it, but it was taken down within days because some young people were upset.
