Governed Memory for AI Agents. Your AI writes down what it learns; nothing becomes Memory until you approve it. Open Source: https://t.co/6yywJqoA0bmagnemo.aiJoined September 2026
You told your agent its job. A few sessions later it was doing another one.
A builder here: "it just keeps rewriting its own job description"
What did yours decide this week that you never agreed to?

Your agent leaves notes for its next session. Nobody opens them.
A builder here: "now its claude writing notes for future claude and nobody reads them"
Does yours read them before it starts?
Your agent finally remembers. Magnemo, open source memory for your AI. magnemo.ai
Your agent recalls a file from an hour ago and drops a rule from five minutes ago.
A builder here: "is that a memory problem or a listening problem?"
Where did that rule live: the chat or a file?

You open a new chat and explain your project from the top, again.
A builder here: "I never have to give context or explain anything."
How long did your last explanation take?
Your agent finally remembers. Magnemo, open source memory for your AI. magnemo.ai
Your Claude Code session hits its limit mid-task, so you open Codex.
A builder here: "the new agent has no idea what just happened."
What did you explain again the last time you switched?
Magnemo, open source memory for your AI, keeps what you decided. One paste. magnemo.ai
Your agent waits for a full context, then compacts all at once.
A builder here calls that "crude and a poor user experience."
Did yours compact mid-task or between tasks?
Magnemo, open source memory for your AI: every memory shows who wrote it and who approved it. magnemo.ai
You corrected your agent and the fix held. Days later, the same mistake.
A builder here: "it makes the exact same mistake again and again"
What have you corrected twice this month?

@leviqiao@morganlinton Keeping the file to what is allowed right now and leaving the history to git blame is tidy. Has anyone on the team ever gone back for an old reason, or does it mostly sit there?
Before you close a long chat, do you ask your AI to write a note for the next one?
@morganlinton did it this week: "Just asked Claude to give me instructions to put in a new session."
That handoff note works. Until the note leaves out the one decision that mattered, and nobody checks.
What would you want that note to never leave out?
Magnemo is open source memory for your AI: plain files you can open, and nothing is kept until you say yes. magnemo.ai
Your agent compacted mid-job and kept going. It never said what it dropped.
A builder here: "When you compact, something is always lost."
What did yours lose the last time it compacted?
Your agent finally remembers. Magnemo, open source memory for your AI. magnemo.ai
@WukongNumber1 Caps make a rule louder, not stronger. When it touched migrations anyway, was the rule in a file it reads every session, or only in the chat?
You put a rule in capital letters. Your agent broke it on the next task.
A builder here: "Claude touches the migrations folder."
Which rule have you written twice this week?
Magnemo, open source memory for your AI, wakes up knowing what you decided last time. magnemo.ai
Your agent forgets your project every time you close the window.
A builder on Bluesky calls that "not much of a colleague."
How much of today's first message was yesterday's?

@leviqiao@morganlinton Keeping the why in the same commit as the change is the part most setups skip. When someone later narrows that path again, does the old reason get removed, or stay as history next to the new one?
The note was true when your agent saved it. It isn't now. Your agent still follows it.
A builder here: "full of things that stopped being true."
How would you find that note in yours?
Your agent finally remembers. Magnemo, open source memory for your AI. magnemo.ai
Your agent rereads a folder of notes before each job, so you stop explaining.
A builder here calls it "hand-made file memory."
Who keeps that folder current: you, or your agent?

Claude Code before lunch, Codex after. Each learns what the other never hears.
@JeremyCMorgan: memory is "more like developer infrastructure."
Which tool of yours knows what the rest don't?

@leviqiao@morganlinton Proposer and approver as two different people is the cleanest rule in this thread. Where does the one-line why live after the change lands, so the next refactor can read it?
You stepped away for lunch. While you were gone, your agent compacted.
You came back to a summary of the work, not the work.
What did it drop while you weren't looking?
Sessions die. The memory doesn't. Magnemo, open source memory for your AI. One paste. magnemo.ai
@Covenantlabsai A guess from Tuesday turning into policy by Friday is exactly the drift. Where does the line sit for you: does anything an agent suggests need a person's sign-off before other agents can read it?
Half of what your AI needs was never written down.
A builder here: "They live in my Raycast shortcuts, my agent memory, my head."
Which of those could anyone else open?
Magnemo, open source memory for your AI, kept on your computer in plain files. magnemo.ai
Every new chat starts as a stranger.
A builder here: "explain the same things all over again every time I start a new chat"
Which explanation would you most like to never give again?
