MailMop @MailMoping

@AgentNexoHQ Number 4 for most people, honestly. The useful bit is that your past client list is already in your inbox. Every thread is a reason to say hello again.

@ClouthierBuilds @FrontlineTalks Finding the hosting login is always the slow bit. Searching the old host's domain in All Mail usually turns up the welcome email with the account details.

@theemmacasey Gmail search knows exactly which email you need. It just insists on giving you the one from 2019 first.

@qbms9197 @nntaleb @DavidBCollum Try searching in:anywhere from:theirdomain.com in Gmail, plus a word you remember from the subject. Plain search often skips archived mail, which is usually where the old stuff sits

@HeyAmit_ @_MonoDesk Digging for the agreed scope is the worst part of it. One habit that helps: search the client's domain in All Mail, not their name. Then you find the version someone else on their side replied to.

@freddiedp20 Fully agree. Old threads are full of people who already said yes to you once. Search by the client's domain rather than their name and the whole history turns up, colleagues and accounts teams included.

@nikkiedwards70 @Yahoomail @Yahoo @YahooCare Not sure about a classic view, but a trick that helps: search the sender's address plus a date range, something like from:[email protected] after:2023/01/01 before:2023/12/31. It cuts through years of old mail.

@3088IH @SteffiP4Liberty Happens to everyone. Emails from real people sink under newsletters fast. Searching from:their-address in:anywhere usually brings the thread straight back.

@borekbruhh The quiet month after referrals dry up is so real. Before cold outreach, I'd look at your own inbox. Old clients and enquiries who went quiet already know you, and a friendly check-in lands far better than a cold DM.

@ugcwithkathleen So true. Some of the easiest work comes from people you haven't spoken to in a couple of years. Most of us already have that list, it's just buried in the inbox.

@wilreynolds Checking past clients as well as current ones is the bit I love. Most of us have years of old client threads sitting in our inbox, and a useful note like this is the easiest reason to get back in touch.

@knoxtwts Totally agree. Most service businesses I know have a pile of quotes in the sent folder that nobody chased. We're building MailMop around the same idea: finding the old contacts and threads already in your Gmail so you can pick them back up.

@iamgazimasud Felt this one. The code was the easy part for us too. Two launches this month, and most of my week is now finding the people who have the problem, not building features. What's been your best channel so far?

@yannnis Same bet here for our launch. What did you find worked first, comparison pages or problem pages?

@myaispace903 Losing the 'call him at 9' stuff is so relatable. Is Later pulling from screenshots automatically, or do you share things into it? Following along, good luck with the beta.

@AbirMahmudxyz Agree on picking a niche. The other warm list most freelancers forget is the one already sitting in their inbox: old clients and enquiries who know you. Worth a look before buying any cold data.

@justabdulraouf @starmexxx Ha, this is the real gap. Most of us have years of old clients and quotes sitting in our inbox and still lose ten minutes hunting for one thread. We're building MailMop around exactly that: finding the old contacts and files you already have and actually using them again.

@CiprianiRanieri @wazX_7 Start with past clients you already have threads with. Search your sent mail for the last year, list everyone you delivered for, and send each one a short note asking how things are going. Referrals tend to come out of those chats.

@DanielPriestley Agreed. Lots of businesses already have the proof in old project emails and proposals with big-name clients. It just never makes it onto the website.

@Raynerdtech Do ask them. The answers are usually more specific than you'd expect, and they often name the person who referred them, which tells you who to thank.
