@rohanpaul_ai Deciding when to speak is a policy check, same as at the gateway. Every interrupt should clear a rule first, or the assistant is just noise.

@pauliusztin_ Same pattern at the gateway layer. Trim the context before it ever reaches the model and the cost problem shrinks before the agent runs.

Every Terraform module I review gets the same check: can you destroy it and rebuild it clean? If teardown was never tested, the module is not done.

@alex_prompter Same lesson from API gateway work: the contract comes before the client. Map the workflow, lock the schema, then let the agent touch it. An agent over an unmapped process is just faster chaos.

@thomas_rehmer The dedicated-account pattern is the right one. Agents get the same treatment as any third-party integration: scoped credentials, pre-execution review, and the broker as the final hard limit. Approval policy is the real product here.

Unpopular opinion among agent builders: your agent does not need more autonomy, it needs a narrower API contract. Every production incident I have seen came from permissions that were too broad, not models that were too weak.

@sinetee Gateway vulnerabilities are the worst kind of boring: invisible until the bill or the breach arrives. Audit the plugins, not just the models.

@thomas_rehmer @buchireddy This is the right framing. An agent calling tools is just an API client with a longer chain of custody. Governance does not need reinventing, the gateway just needs to know the agent's identity.

@heynavtoor Fine-tuning washes out watermarks, so provenance has to live in the supply chain, not the weights. Signed builds and logged training runs beat fingerprinting.

@heynavtoor The hints vs answers split is the interesting part. Same lesson from building gateway guardrails: constraints that make the human think keep the skill alive.

Biggest lesson from running an LLM gateway in production: your routing logic matters less than your fallback logic. The question is never if a model fails. It is when, and what the user sees next.
