The least productive, least experienced members of the producer community are the loudest on social media and the quickest to discourage their peers. Just be careful of who you let guide you.
If you're sending your music to people who don't want it/don't ask for it, your strategy is flawed. There's no way around it. Not knowing how to market isn't an excuse. You can Google "how to market." If you don't respect your own music enough to do it right, who else will?

I still love the project and the game and they are making progress but slow dev time and lack of communication are big turn offs for many.

Beats are investments. Asking for free beats in exchange for a split of the royalties is a problem. Creators of a song split royalties anyway. & most songs uploaded to spotify never generate a single cent. If your songs are generating $0, you're taking advantage of the producer
