People are talking about the medical necessity of abortion to save the mother's life. I was one of those mothers. I was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that was cutting off my airway at 20 weeks of pregnancy. I will never forget when the first doctor, an oncologist, mentioned abortion. We had gone thru years of infertility to get pregnant. I knew I would rather die and give birth. Then I met with another doctor who listed all of the problems the baby would have if I did not terminate. I stood my ground and refused. He said, "That is ok. The baby will probably spontaneously abort anyway." I searched and found good doctors that supported me, and I gave birth to a healthy baby at 34 weeks. I will be celebrating 10 years cancer free in May. I have a healthy, beautiful, bright, precious 10 year old daughter who is a living reminder that doctors do not know everything” - Sarah Hull

This might be one of the WILDEST plot twists in the entire Bible and most Christians have never heard of it. Check this out. There were two significant requests Moses made to God that were denied. First. In Exodus 33, Moses asks God, “Show me Your glory.” But God tells him, “You cannot see My face, for no one may see Me and live.” Request denied. Second. In Deuteronomy 3, Moses begs God to let him enter the Promised Land but because of his disobedience and failure to trust God, God tells Moses he will not enter. Request denied again. Now, fast forward to the New Testament. In Matthew 17, Jesus is transfigured on a mountain, and the Bible specifically tells us that his face shone like the sun. And guess who suddenly appears there with Jesus? Moses. Think about this. What is Moses finally seeing? He’s seeing… the face of God. The man who led the first Exodus and delivered his people from the bondage of Egypt is standing face to face with the One who would accomplish a greater Exodus, delivering sinners from the bondage of Satan, sin and death. The man whose face was radiant because of God’s glory (Ex. 34:29) is standing face to face with the One whose face radiates God’s glory (Matt. 17:2). In Deuteronomy 18:15, Moses tells the Israelites that God will raise up a prophet like him and commands them to “LISTEN TO HIM.” In Matthew 17:5: God the Father speaks to the disciples about Jesus and says “LISTEN TO HIM.” But wait… there’s more. Where is Moses standing? He’s standing… in the promised land. The very two things Moses had once been denied, God allows him to experience in the presence of Jesus. Two takeaways. 1. Sometimes God answers our prayer requests in ways that we do not expect. Whatever he has to offer us is infinitely better than anything we could ever imagine. 2. Our failures may have consequences, but in Christ, they don't have to have the final word. That’s why Moses’ failure didn’t have the final word. God’s grace did.

I’m telling my sons that Cornell exposes the poverty of a sexual ethic built almost entirely around consent. We have told young people that sex can be easily detached from marriage, permanence, fidelity, children, responsibility, even love, and that as long as everyone says yes, the encounter is morally legitimate. That leaves women with an impoverished set of categories afterward. If a sexual experience leaves her feeling ashamed, degraded, used, or disgusted, our culture gives her very little language for saying: I consented, but it was still wrong. I participated in something that was bad for me. Instead, the options increasingly become: it was liberation, or it was rape. But there is a third category: consensual sexual behavior can still be degrading, exploitative, reckless, and morally destructive. Consent matters because sexual coercion or assault is a grave violation of another person. No man has the right to force himself on a woman, exploit her impairment or incapacity, or use her body against her will. But the absence of coercion/assault does not make a sexual act good. Consent establishes a floor, not a moral vision. It tells us when a boundary has been violated; it cannot tell us what sex is for, where it belongs, or what men and women owe one another before, during, and after it. Marriage can. Marriage does not treat sex as a free-floating act whose morality is determined only by whether two people consent in the moment. It reserves sex for a specific context because sex is powerful, consequential, and sacred. Before the sexual act, a man and woman stand before their families, their community, and God and make a public, lifelong commitment to one another. That commitment gives sex its proper purpose, perspective, and protection. Sex then becomes not merely something two people agree to do, but the bodily expression of a covenant they have already made: fidelity, permanence, mutual obligation, and openness to the children their union can create. That framework asks much more of a man than, “Did she say yes?” It asks: Have you promised yourself to her? Will you remain faithful to her? Will you accept responsibility for the children sex may create? Will you still be there tomorrow, next year, and fifty years from now? Marriage offers a richer sexual ethic. It says consent is necessary, but it is not enough. Sex belongs inside a covenant strong enough to bear its meaning, its potential, its vulnerability, and its consequences. That is what I want my sons to understand. The goal is not merely to become men who can secure consent. It is to become men worthy of making, and keeping, the kind of promise that gives sex its proper home.

When I said in that now viral podcast clip that women shouldn't normatively have "unsupervised access to one another," I didn't mean that women should cancel their knitting groups. Here's what I did (and didn't) mean: First, the entire section was unscripted and off the cuff. Like most things I say that go viral, it's entirely unpredictable which parts will get clipped and turned into reels by libs with millions of followers. So was I being precise to the tenth decimal point? Definitely not. So let me say: It is easy to see why it would sound ridiculous out of context to say that women can't have "unsupervised access to one another." Because as a standalone statement, it's not really what I meant. Contextually, I was talking about the duty of a husband to protect and lead his wife. In an age of internet-driven social contagion, designer mental illnesses, and millions of women defending a woman who methodically strangled her own children (the context of the episode), this duty requires a man to know who has access to his wife. He should be asking, "Who is influencing her? Which women are speaking into her life? What are they telling her? If she were to become more like the women she regularly beholds, would she become more godly or less?" So when I say "unsupervised access to one another," I was talking about the frankly insane idea that it is normative for women to be unattached from male authority in general. Normatively speaking, God designed the world such that a woman is under the authority and protection of her father, then her husband. It is only in abnormal situations—like a young woman with a foolish father or a woman who is widowed—for a woman to find herself outside of the protection and authority of a man. That is the sense in which I'm using the word "normative" above. Normative, referring to God's initial design for a thing. So do I believe that a husband must lurk behind his wife whenever she's having lunch with a friend? Absolutely not. But should a husband know who his wife is friends with and what kind of women those friends are? Absolutely. It's the same with social media, but the dangers are amplified a thousandfold. There are millions of voices online vying for the attention of my wife. They're all trying to shape her, disciple her, teach her, and persuade her to believe them. As it is my duty to love, lead, and protect her as her head, this is highly relevant. I would fail in my duty if I was passive in my oversight of her. If I didn't pay attention, if I didn't ask questions. If I didn't take stock of who is being allowed to whisper in my wife's ear—even if that whispering comes through a social media algorithm. I hope all of the above is properly basic enough that even a lot of my haters can agree. Now carry on with the memes! I am enjoying them immensely. 😂

William Tyndale didn't just disagree with purgatory, he completely roasted it as a the theological absurdity and a financial scam that it is. Theological absurdity: If the blood of Jesus actually cleanses us from all sin, then adding a purgatorial fire on top of it is basically saying the cross wasn't enough. Tyndale pointed out the ridiculousness of it by asking why a little money to the Pope could get a soul out of purgatory, but the blood of Christ couldn't. Financial racket: The church kept people terrified for their dead loved ones and then offered a financial cure for that fear. Tyndale even called his opponent Thomas More the "Proctor of Purgatory" because he saw the defenders of the doctrine as lawyers protecting a fraudulent business model. Tyndale's all our rejection of purgatory wasn't just a side issue… it was central to recovering the gospel. He was defending the truth that our standing before God rests entirely on the finished work of Christ and not on human works or buying clerical favors.

Rats laugh when you tickle them. Elephants mourn their dead. Whales make songs and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new song. Monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place they have never been. Sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an ocean that they have never seen, disappear into it for like 3 decades and then somehow come back to the same beach they hatched on. Birds can see colors that we humans can’t see. There are colors out there right now that we don’t even get to know about. There are sea slugs that eat algae and use the chloroplast/chlorophyll and then are just like…photosynthesizing. And they’re super adorable. There are mushrooms communicating underground. There are seeds sitting in the dirt for decades like “no actually I will wait. It’s fine.” Squirrels plant trees because they forget where they put their snacks. Relatable. A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG THAT IT CREATES ITSELF AND DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC GOO AND REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND THEN LEAVES. WHY IS THIS NOT MORE BEAUTIFULLY TERRIFYING TO PEOPLE?? And you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a huge tree? It just has a blueprint inside itself? Your body started as ONE CELL. ONE. And that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on electricity without you even asking it to? The iron in our blood was made inside a star?? We are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of fire and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live? Watch the bait-and-switch: A) When the Bible is used to advance a “conservative” cause, it’s “evil Christian Nationalism” (that he’s spent his entire campaign decrying) or it’s “forcing your religion on other people” and must be FORECEFULLY DENOUNCED. But when the Bible is used to advance a progressive cause, aw shucks it’s just me being Christlike, “speaking truth to power”, and seeking “justice” or “compassion.” His whole campaign is, ”Christian Nationalism for ME, but not for THEE” and hoping you won’t notice. B) What progressives do is take the commands Jesus gave to INDIVIDUALS and apply them to the GOVERNMENT. When Christians use words like “caring” or “generous” they mean caring for people and being generous with their own resources. When progressives use the words “caring” and “generous”, they mean “vote for the government to forcibly take OTHER PEOPLE’S RESOURCES at gunpoint and redistribute it against their will.” Of course, this *always* backfires because governments do not work like people and churches, so with governments you tends to get more of what you INCENTIVIZE and less of what you PENALIZE. This is why cities and states that throw billions of $ at “solving homelessness” end up with MORE HOMELESSNESS, they do not “solve homelessness.” This is a theology-nerd thing, but in general progressives want the government to do the roles of the church and individual (charity, compassion, care), and they want NOBODY to do the role of the State (administer justice and be a “terror to the wrongdoer”). ^^^this always results in societal chaos and darkness. Further… What Talarico (and other progressives) always do is selevtively edit Jesus, so that he becomes a mascot for their cause. I can do a “when Jesus…” list too, but James won’t like mine… - When Jesus defined marriage, he defined it as only between a man and a woman - When Jesus talked about gender, he rooted it in biology, saying “he made them male and female” - When Jesus talked about harming children (abortion), he said it would be better for you to have millstone tied around your neck and be cast into the ocean - … that time when Jesus encouraged his followers to buy weapons for self-defense (Luke 22:36) - Jesus’ family strictly obeyed the government’s border / migration / census laws. - When Jesus talked about salvation, he said belief in him was the ONLY WAY - When Jesus healed the sick, he didn’t need a deductible… there were no insurance companies in AD 30, and Jesus was using miraculous power, not paying doctors. Strongly disagree with this. Actually, the deliberate subversion of explicitly Christian art does matter. And you can’t really play the “this topic isn’t important enough to worry about” card while simultaneously publishing a lengthy piece about it. It was obviously important enough for you to sit down and write an article. So we agree that it warrants commentary. The question, then, is whether the subversion of Christian art is good or bad. And I can’t for the life of me understand how any conservative could come to any other conclusion than “it’s bad.” If there is any rational defense of the contrary position, this piece doesn’t even attempt to present it. All it does is repeatedly insist that the Lion character who symbolically represents Jesus is not literally Jesus Himself. Which is an argument refuting a point that nobody has made. The point that we are making — that the deliberate subversion of Christian art is self-evidently bad — is not addressed at all, except with various dismissive cliches about “clutching pearls.” A charge that, given the hostile and condescending tone of the article, could be thrown right back at the author.
