Throwback to when I met @MbuyiseniNdlozi for the first time during Mac Maharaj’s 90th birthday celebration. It was powerful for the daughters of revolutionaries from Namibia and Botswana @LadyAfruika to stand alongside a modern-day activist fighting for economic emancipation. ✊🏼

Message of Condolences By President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Following the Passing On of the Former President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu I have learned with a deep sense of sadness about the passing on of the former President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu. In that vein, the passing on of former President Lungu is deeply felt by the Namibian people who have forged strong bonds of friendship with the Zambian people over many decades. The Namibian people have benefitted immensely from the generosity of the Zambian Government and its people who hosted the liberation movement, SWAPO and its leadership, at great cost to its own internal security. At independence in 1990, Namibia relied on steadfast Zambian expertise in developing administrative frameworks for Government and President Lungu continued with the tradition of closer cooperation and friendship between our two nations. As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, I recall meeting on several occasions President Lungu during his tenure in Office and I felt his resolute commitment to stronger bilateral cooperation between Namibia and Zambia. On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Namibia, I wish to convey heartfelt condolences to President Hakainde Hichilema, Former First Lady Madam Esther Lungu, the children, the entire bereaved family and the fraternal people of Zambia. During this period of profound sorrow for the Zambian nation, I wish to assure the sister Republic of Zambia and its people that the Namibian people stand with you in grief. May the Soul of former President Edgar Lungu Rest in Eternal Peace.

It was an absolute pleasure serving as the Master of Ceremonies for the Rossing Uranium Sustainability and Performance Report 2024 Launch.

I joined the people of Namibia today in witnessing the historic inauguration of Her Excellency President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the country’s first female president. I extend my heartfelt support as she takes on this great responsibility and look forward to strengthening the bonds of diplomacy and cooperation between Botswana and Namibia. Wishing her success in leading the nation forward. #HerExcellencyNandiNdaitwa#BotswanaNamibiaRelations #AfricaUnite

Congratulations to Her Excellency President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, on being sworn in as the 5th President of the Republic of Namibia. In Tanzania, we fondly address you as Mama SWAPO, a name given to you by our Founding Father, the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere. You have made history and set the bar high for Africa’s and Namibia’s girl child. Your resounding victory is a moment of pride to the continent but more so, to the people of Tanzania, your home during the most part of your prime years. In Tanzania, we are happy to see the daughter we nurtured and raised with love and compassion, has now risen to the highest office of the Republic of Namibia. Madam President, your neighbours in Magomeni, Dar es Salaam, are joining all Tanzanians and Namibians in celebrating and wishing you all the best.

The starting line up of the 8th Administration of Namibia 💫. My central take away from our 35th Independence celebration: There’s a lot more that unites us than that which divides us. Namibia continues to be destined for greatness. Congratulations to our new leaders. 🇳🇦

There is no excuse that Africa still lacks permanent representation on the Security Council. I will keep working with the @_AfricanUnion and all @UN Member Countries to ensure the representation Africa needs – including with two permanent members.
