For example, let’s say you work with 3D modeling: you need to understand concepts of light and shadow, spatial geometry, and even programming for certain plugins and functions. Consequently, every skill you refine within a specific area enhances the final outcome of your work. Your ideas improve because you possess a broader context, allowing you to draw connections between seemingly unrelated concepts. Knowing how to connect the dots.

@zkjays That’s a good strategy; whenever I have some free time, I also like to go hiking. I’m lucky that, where I live, there are plenty of natural spots and beaches. But I spend the whole day working under artificial light. That’s what ruins everything, hahaha.

I think one of the hardest things about doing anything meaningful is that reality often gives you no feedback for a long time. You can work for weeks, months, sometimes years, and still look almost exactly where you started. That’s why games are so addictive in comparison.
