The Devin critique seems valid but a bit beyond the point: "It did not do things perfectly" And then they present that by instantly jumping to: "AI devs are a scam and we should all just ignore it, your job will not be replaced" (PS I don't know Devin founders, investors etc, no connection, no reason to defend them or anything)

@levelsio > "It did not do things perfectly" It's more like "it didn't do the things it was told to do" But I don't get why people are mad, literally every AI demo since GPT-2 has been cherry picked, staged, highly curated examples Whatever quality you see in an AI demo - divide by 16
@MaxRovensky @levelsio They had demos a year ago of AI building an app with a UI mockup being the only input. But then nothing further came of it. Still no usable app built with AI. It's all hype. Even Copilot and ChatGPT are barely useful. Probably wouldn't miss them if I didn't have access.
@MaxRovensky @levelsio This wasn’t just a cherry picked demo, it was a demo that straight up is misleading. Even cherry picked, it still didn’t *complete* an up-work task. Also, those GPT-3 demos weren’t being used to try and mislead investors to raise 3B. Devin simply gives Theranos vibes.
@MaxRovensky @levelsio And it sucks, because expectations are so high, and even the most advanced commercial AIs fail randomly in simplest tasks 😩
