.@RobinhoodApp hurting itself in its confusion today. I wouldn't trust them with my money, there are plenty of brokerages that treat their customers like grown-ups who can take informed risk decisions.

Between the lines, I'm hearing "container platforms are still not nearly as stable and polished as marketing copy would have you believe" from @alicegoldfuss's talk at #LISA19. It takes a full, brand new, team to roll out and run a production container infrastructure.

The communication overhead of specialization is wonderfully illustrated by this slide from @dominicad’s @DevOpsDaysTO talk - everyone has dealt with healthcare at some point, so the analogy is universally understandable.

An example of locally reasonable choices (each food delivery start-up has its own app and hardware) leading to globally dumb decisions (4 different cheap Android tablets in each restaurant, instead of a single order aggregator).
