This is not “breaking news.” This is standard practice. The law does not require prosecutors to present any exculpatory evidence to a grand jury. There is no cross examination of witnesses either. The purpose of the grand jury is to decide if there is enough evidence to bring a charge, not whether the person is guilty of it.

@McAdooGordon The purpose of a grand jury is to present jurists with all of the evidence to see if an indictment is warranted. Withholding evidence from the grand jury in order to get an indictment of a person when you have evidence they are innocent is a perversion of the grand jury system.
@jmotivator It's not. There is no requirement that "all" of the evidence be presented. The purpose of the grand jury is to determine if there is enough evidence to support a charge, not to determine guilt or innocence based on all available evidence - that the purpose of the trial.
@nittwit808 @jmotivator Brady is part of the due process TRIAL right. The courts have never said it applies pre-indictment. You shouldn't talk about things that you don't know about, especially to someone who does.
