@eddie_wrt I am waiting to hear and see what happened after his criminal act of threatening those passengers' lives.
@Citi973 Why do we always wait for the place to get piled up before we want to clear the congestion? Why not preventing it entirely to save the people the agony? These things do not happen overnight, it builds up gradually. There must be consistent proactive way to avert such situations.
Public service is a sacred trust placed in our hands by the people of Ghana. As we pursue the Resetting Ghana Agenda, we must remain worthy of that trust.
I paid a working visit to the Passport Head Office yesterday to congratulate management and staff for emerging as the most transformed and least corrupt public institution according to the recent Ghana Statistical Service report. I announced that all passport administration staff will receive a special bonus next week for their impressive output as highlighted by the GSS Survey. We shall continue with our radical reforms driven by integrity, professionalism, innovation, client satisfaction and excellence. Here are 10 Exciting Facts about Ghana’s Remarkable Passport Reset: 1) Ghana now has one of the most advanced and secured chip-embedded passports in the world; 2) Our passports are now considered amongst the most valuable on the continent with premium visa waiver status; 3) All passport application backlogs have been cleared; 4) Passports are processed in a few working days (under 15 days) without middlemen or “goro boys”; 5) Processing fees have been reduced by 30% to make access to passports affordable; 6) Courier services have been introduced to enhance convenience and ensure fast deliveries at no extra cost; 7) Same day passport processing is now possible; 8) Digital tracking has been introduced; 9) Enhanced security protocols to prevent foreigners from illegally acquiring Ghanaian passports; 10) Passport Application Centres are now available in all 16 regions for the first time in Ghana’s history. For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾
A must watch video and share as well. While most of our rivers and forests are under seige from illegal miners poisoning our flora and fauna, we are at the mercy of murderous and greedy traders adding more poisonous chemicals to hasten the ripening of fruits and vegetables. The FDA and GSA must adopt such videos to intensify education against the use of these chemicals and stop their importation.
I joined members of the Civil Service at the 2026 Civil Service Week Celebration and 2025 Awards Ceremony, held under the theme, “The Resetting Agenda for Sustainable Development in Ghana: The Civil Service’s Responsibility.” The theme speaks directly to the task before us. The Civil Service provides continuity across political administrations, preserves institutional knowledge and brings the technical expertise required to translate policy into action. Across health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and economic development, its effectiveness directly affects the quality of services Ghanaians receive. Government remains committed to strengthening the Civil Service through public sector reform, financial management and expenditure controls. But the success of these reforms will ultimately be measured by whether our institutions work better and citizens experience better public services. I commend the Head of the Civil Service and all stakeholders for organising this year’s celebration. Congratulations to the recipients of the 2025 Civil Service Awards for their discipline, integrity, innovation and commitment to public service. At the same time, we must acknowledge the many other dedicated public servants who may not have received an award but who perform their duties diligently, treat citizens with dignity and contribute meaningfully to the work of the Civil Service. Public service is a sacred trust placed in our hands by the people of Ghana. As we pursue the Resetting Ghana Agenda, we must remain worthy of that trust.

@SIKAOFFICIAL1 Very well spoken. What value is in this act? Is it for the money? Our values are eroding speedily.
A young Ugandan woman by has been sentenced to 6 Years in prison for refusing to marry a business man that sponsored her in school since 2015. They started dating in 2015, in 2018 they had an agreement that they’ll marry, and the man decided to sponsor everything about her. In 2026 the woman said no to his proposal and the man took the matter to Court. After presenting evidence beyond reasonable doubt, the Rukungiri District court found the young woman guilty and sentenced her to 6 years in prison. Evidence showed that the man has been taking care of her for 11 years till she graduated.
Ghana’s Independence was won through courage and sacrifice. Today, we protect that freedom upholding law, discipline, and justice. The true strength of our freedom lies in a nation that is safe and secure. God bless our homeland, Ghana
In the wake of the violent attack on a student of Awutu Obrachire Senior High Technical School during the zonal athletics competition in Agona Swedru, I visited the Swedru School of Business to address the situation directly. The purpose of the visit was to engage management, assess the circumstances, reinforce discipline, and ensure that immediate steps are taken to prevent any recurrence. The essence of this visit was clear: to restore order, strengthen accountability, and reaffirm that violence within our educational institutions will not be tolerated. As the CID investigates this incident, all persons found to have participated in this act are being identified and dealt with in accordance with the law. Our students must feel safe in school and at every sanctioned event. Discipline, responsibility, and respect for life must remain non-negotiable.

The Presidency hosted the 2026 New Year Greetings and Reception for the Diplomatic Corps. This annual event is about strengthening international and bilateral relations, deepening mutually beneficial partnerships, and advancing peace and stability. Government will continue working closely with our diplomatic partners to enhance cooperation across key sectors and respond to global and regional challenges. We look forward to building on existing partnerships and forging new pathways for collaboration in the interest of Ghana and the international community.
One year into office as the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture and the MP of the Shama Constituency, I have learned that leadership is not what it looks like from the outside. From afar, titles appear heavy with power. From within, they are heavy with responsibility. This past year has slowed me down—not in action, but in reflection. It has forced me to look back at the road that brought me here, and to finally acknowledge the journey for what it was. I was raised by a hardworking single mother who carried more than her share and never complained. Watching her taught me endurance before I understood the word. She showed me that survival is not dramatic—it is daily commitment. From her, I learned that you do not wait for ideal conditions to do your best. You do your best because it is required of you. As a young girl, I questioned the system. I questioned authority, inequality, and traditions that excluded more than they included. I did not have the language then, but I was searching for justice. That questioning often came with isolation. But it also formed the foundation of my public life: if a system cannot be questioned, it cannot be trusted. My desire to represent my community in Parliament was born early. I believed then—and I still believe now—that development must be shaped by those who live its consequences. In the year 2000, I made my first attempt to enter Parliament. I was hopeful and determined, but unsuccessful. What followed was not one year of waiting, but twenty-four. Twenty-four years of serving in other capacities. Twenty-four years of learning leadership without authority. Twenty-four years of preparation without applause. Looking back now, I see that what felt like delay was actually formation. What did not happen in 2000 happened in 2024, when experience had caught up with intention. When I finally entered Parliament, I understood the weight of representation in a way my younger self could not have. This year in office has also made me reflect on the private costs of public service. Relationships were tested. Marriage required patience and sacrifice. Motherhood came later than I had planned, carrying both deep joy and deep vulnerability. I have learned that life does not unfold on one timeline. And I have learned to stop measuring myself against clocks that were never mine. There were people who helped me along the way—some young, some old, some peers. Some offered wisdom. Some offered shelter. Some offered encouragement at moments when I was close to giving up. I carry them with me in this office, even when they are not visible. There were also betrayals. Trust broken quietly. Support withdrawn unexpectedly. Those experiences hurt, not because of ambition, but because I believed in shared purpose. Over time, I have learned that betrayal is not always personal—it is often a mirror of other people’s limitations. It has taught me discernment without bitterness. Balancing family, marriage, church, motherhood, and public service has not been neat. I have stopped pretending that balance is something you achieve once and hold forever. Some days, one area requires more of me than the others. And somehow, over time, things find their place. After one year in office, I understand this clearly: leadership is an act of stewardship, not control. You hold space for others. You make decisions knowing they will affect lives you may never meet. You carry both criticism and expectation in silence. And yet, despite the weight, I remain grateful. Grateful for the long road. Grateful for the delays. Grateful for the lessons learned the hard way. If my journey says anything, let it be this: you are not late, forgotten, or failing—growth takes time. Sometimes it takes decades to step into what you were being prepared for. One year into office, I am still becoming, still learning, still serving—and I carry this responsibility not as a trophy, but as a trust.

As part for our efforts to offer sustainable solutions to the recent transportation disruptions, we also engaged state-owned transport companies. I visited Metro Mass Transit Ltd. and Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE), the managers of Ayalolo, to assess their operational realities. His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has assured both institutions of Government’s readiness to support them with new, high-occupancy vehicles to enhance their capacity and strengthen their operational capabilities nationwide. At Metro Mass Transit Ltd, it was noted that the company is currently operating at only about 60% of its total vehicle capacity, with the remaining fleet in critical condition. Metro Mass is presently running with approximately 400 buses across the country, despite Ghana’s growing population and the increasing demand for public transport. The leadership of Metro Mass confirmed that the company had not received any significant additions to its fleet over the years, contributing to the pressures the sector faces today. Government is committed to removing the obstacles limiting Metro Mass from reaching its full potential, and will provide the necessary support to expand and restore its fleet for improved service delivery. At Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE), discussions similarly focused on the urgent need for retooling. The Ayalolo initiative was introduced to strengthen urban mobility, improve efficiency, and reduce congestion within our cities. GAPTE also shared plans to revamp the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system, originally designed to ease traffic and provide reliable mass transit options. It was encouraging to learn that GAPTE has been able to reclaim some key terminals that had previously been taken away, which is expected to improve the efficiency of their operations. The Ayalolo service remains critical, particularly as it currently provides transport at fares approximately 20% lower than regular public transport rates. This makes it an important option for many working-class commuters. Government recognises the disruptions commuters are facing and is working closely with both state-owned and private transport providers to expand capacity and ensure that commuters across Ghana are treated with care and dignity.
