So many questions were asked regarding this case. Regrettably, there were not enough answers found during investigation. Hopefully one day, someone will put a name to his face and his murderer will be found.

If the facial reconstruction had a darker complexion, would there be an identification? Or are the features arguably identifiable with or without a darker complexion?

Some also had questions on the complexion. Although the medical examiner had believed the man to be Caucasian, the ‘afro-style’ comb they found on him said differently. Thomas Hughes (the investigator) wasn’t as sure now.

Forensic anthropologists shut these questions down. Although the stature of the bones were small and woman like, the pelvic bone wasn’t as wide as it would be if it were a female.

Why hadn’t investigators assumed the remains were female? Was it the clothing? Some said it may have been a woman dressing as a man. It would’ve made sense as to why there were no identifications.

Unfortunately, there was no identification from the reconstruction. No one recognized the man. But some citizens began asking questions.

Law enforcement began telling citizens to contact the number (631)-756-3390 from the State Police major crimes unit if they had any information at all. All calls were announced to be confidential.

Now that the facial reconstruction had been completed, the investigators were crossing their fingers in hopes of finding someone to identify the man.

The digital facial reconstruction took 5 years of analysis using forensic methods to produce.

A facial reconstruction was desperately needed. The race of the man was inconclusive. The medical examiner believed the victim to be Caucasian, based on his cheek bones.

After being stumped for quite awhile, forensic anthropologists once again stepped in to help solve this murder mystery

Investigators came to the conclusion that the man was not a victim based on the location he was found and that he wasn’t dismembered like the rest of the serial killers victims.

The Long Island serial killer has been unidentifiable for years. He had killed and dismembered bodies over a period of nearly 20 years.

Many had believed that the man was a victim of the Long Island serial killer.

Once the case in 2004 went cold, Hughes kept working on it by himself, and was eventually paired with another to take another look at it. All they want is answers.

Hughes interviewed with NBC news. He was the first to catch the case when the body was found. He mentioned that the 2004 investigation was “painstaking” and that it was frustrating not to have any leads.
