@tonymc39 With EFC we across 25 trains an hour - but people want to go everywhere across network so much bigger service considerations to factor in 2/2
@tonymc39 Good read Tony. One thing I always like to point out is the comparision between the National and EFC games. National we know were 99% of customers are going (town or the races) and thus we can plan a 7.5 min 8 car service = 16 trains a hour through Aintree. 1/2

Cllr Liam Robinson and I had a very constructive meeting with @EFC_FanAdvisory, @Everton and @merseyrail about match day travel to Hill Dickinson Stadium. There was absolute consensus on the way forward, with a shared focus on improving the match day experience for supporters.
Last week @MetroMayorSteve convened a meeting with representatives from @EFC_FanAdvisory, the Club, Merseyrail and other key stakeholders to discuss transport arrangements to and from Hill Dickinson Stadium. evertonfc.com/news/2026/sept…

It’s a high volume, high frequency service that carries nearly 100k passengers a day - we are comfortably in the top half of operators in terms of trains run also. Indeed I’d say GTR and Northern are probably the outliers in terms of their volume vs rest of industry.

I get the challenge vs GTR (975k station stops T3), but I think it’s a tad unfair to play down the performance due to a ‘small system’. Yes we have a smaller network map but our volume is massive. We have more station stops than GA, c2c etc.

@StuartBran57529 @merseyrail Hi Stuart - the works been planned in for well over 12 months and its actually a £3.5m investment piece by Network Rail (they lead the workstream) so its really disappointing its been brought forward. We will be engaging all parties shortly on the issue. I share your frustration.
