@Packpacks115 It's never too late! And many parts of government and industry already do! Liquor, military, guns, drugs, soda and healthcare all medic metric, even in US.

@tom_perignon It's a good point Tom.

Nature lends a hand in discovery of relationships like this nautilus and the golden ratio. Follow the US Metric Association as we head out to find where SI units are being used in the wild. #GOMETRIC #metricsystem #STEM #science

@sasssms @MailhiotTom @berial @GunnyJ @tatereeves Doesn't change it, eliminates it. Dollar is 0.10922 mm thick to that's the same. Now we just move (12) decimals 1000000000000 are 109220000000 mm thick 109220000000 mm is 109220000 meters or 109,220 km $1trn = 109,220 kilometers I did that just now typing because I can count

@Ultra_SSB_ @NexOverHere It's true! Initially But it also keeps parts and material costs higher and limits our export market. Long term yield for standardization is exponential to the short term costs and well studied by private groups and government. usma.org/going-metric-p… govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GO…

Hallelujah.

@GorgeousRandyF5 @ReverendWarnock He was just following through what are founders started back in 1875 when they signed into the Metric Treaty.

Did you know that 1 milliliter of water == 1 centimeter^3 of water == 1 gram AND that raising it by 1°C == 1 calorie of energy! Metric system is neat, and useful. #metricmonday

@deepybee Most US agencies do. Industry resists, but It's easy to get started at home. Weather and thermostats in celsius. Measure heights, cooking, etc If average us consumer was Metric ready, industry would follow.

@doabvinyl Mmmm, cinnametric buns...😋 Would they share or is it secret?

@physicsgeek @DeebsFLA I don't want to rain on your parade, but NASA uses the metric system. They find it better for doing that kind of stuff, and also Mars.

@mjfk1957 @HellBentVet Bingo. Industry pushed back on required conversion multiple times. The cost argument is true (in the short term). Long term it gives advantage as we standardize, it also increases our products market for international application and reduces cost of parts and materials.

@amburnes99 Ouch! We feel ya though. Fun fact: It was never established so much as never relinquished. The US signed Metric Treaty back in 1880. Congress has made it the preferred system of all US agencies in the 70s, 80s, and 90s along with a few presidents. nist.gov/pml/weights-an…

What do Clocks, Pens, Liquor, & Electricity all have in common? They're metric! So is track and field, tire sizes, soda bottles, CO2 emissions, healthcare, & more! Join us on #MetricMondays for factoids on U.S. adoption, and ways you can help progress. nist.gov/pml/weights-an…

Did you know Metric is already the preferred system of measure for all US Agencies?! Or that since 1992 it is required for their commerce interactions such as procurement or grants?! Our pledge goes back to 1880, let's follow through! nist.gov/system/files/d… #MetricMondays

Don't worry, it's OK, change can be hard. Our neighbors to the north have also been struggling with "metrification," but together we can help finish our collective 40 year journey! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metricati…
