The remnants of an impacted semi being cleaned up on I-96 from the Webberville EF-2 tornado back on 8/24/23. Notice the shredded woods in the top left of the photo!
A third tornado was just confirmed in Ohio from yesterday’s storms. This one in Bucyrus, Crawford county. An EF-1 with winds over 110mph. Ohio now at 34 for 2024
Ohio’s 4th tornado from yesterday is now being surveyed in Champaign county near Urbana. This makes Ohio’s annual count now 35. Will update the map once last/long comes in.

Alright so going into today, Ohio has added 5 more tornadoes from 4-17-24. The Great Lakes tornado counts are as follows: Ohio 35 Illinois 31 Indiana 17 Wisconsin 2 Michigan 2 Illinois will likely add a couple more to this today with one already being confirmed near St Louis.…
Illinois already up to 4 confirmed tornadoes as of 12:57pm. That now means IL is tied with OH for annual tornado count with 35 each.
Real talk. Just dove into long term data, teleconnections, ETC… starting here at the end of April, we are going to be very active across the US. Next system to watch will be April 26-28th for a potential multi day severe weather event. Active pattern likely continues into May.
