@wychstreet Wore mine to the dog park last weekend in Chicago, where an older gentleman mistakenly chided me for being a Mets fan. After a gentle clarification, he went on to explain his late wife wrote a book on old ballparks. Nice fellow.

@chicagobars Did your relative live near Cincinnati? GE manufactures jet engines near there (and presumably has for a long time, although I didn’t look it up)

@iowahawkblog Thanks! Confirms it must be one of his younger brothers, as by 1918 my great grandfather was in the US Army. Here he is with what he labeled a “Standard Class B” truck #DavesCarIDService

@iowahawkblog Helps if I type correctly…My great-grandfather (we think…he had a few younger brothers, so an ID on the car may help us confirm) #DavesCarIDService

@rap30 I don’t read Murphy’s comment as saying Kinzinger would’ve beaten LaHood in a primary, but rather that he would have won his existing primary (or similar) if not for the redistricting putting him in with LaHood in LaHood’s prime territory. Combining them wasn’t unavoidable

@JVLast Yet in a way that he can’t comprehend (nor could he ever), it’s a perfect choice because of how awful it is: “The song caught on because pompous assholes related to it, and it endures because pompous assholes continue to relate to it.” gq.com/story/my-way-i…

@EsotericCD The breaking of the fourth wall in the opening scene is a low point in my opinion, but otherwise I find it a very solid and underrated installment in the franchise.

@StorkOnTheCork Tough to tell from this angle, but that is in fact Woodford Rye. Works well!

@LMandrakeJr @bigdaddyofnine I like their blonde/light roast and standard cold brew, and I take both black. Won’t say it’s the best to be found of either type but decent and worth the convenience. Of the giant chains, Dunkin’ has better drip coffee but Starbucks wins the cold brew.

@VictorinoMatus I have many fond memories of watching classic WWII movies with my dad when I was growing up. I recommend adding The Longest Day and The Sands of Iwo Jima to your list - two of our favorites!

So incredibly disappointed in @chevrolet and @GM. After a transmission failure at 59k miles and three weeks of silence from Chevy customer service, I was told today there was "nothing the company can do" to contribute to the significant repair cost. You've just lost a customer.
