Finals are almost here... and just in time. It's raining in #VirginiaBeach.
Lightning the hermit crab just won the most athletic superlative. I demand a recount!

Wow, 170 crabs have registered for this race, and counting. Organizers said a few contestants just went to the boardwalk to buy more crabs.

The first rule of underground hermit crab racing is you do not talk about underground hermit crab racing.
Foiled in my first heat! I was beaten by Pink Fish, owned by Sadie, 3, of Virginia Beach. Man, she was fast.
First heat is over, second is going on now. Think I'm in good shape -- the announcer keeps calling these heats "glacial."
Yikes, a giant hermit crab! He's the size of a baseball, owned by Sydney of Lynchburg. Something for me to aspire to.
