We'll take 18ish likes as a yes. Birds are amazing. Between their acting performances, masterful dancing and outright aggression, we can't get enough. Here are some of the noteworthy "activities" birds are capable of. Have you been witness (or victim) to any of these? 🐦1/7

Canada geese and red-winged blackbirds are fearless when it comes to defending their nests or young. The WILL "attack" or dive-bomb people, otherwise known as losing their cool. Be wary this time of year. 🐦2/7
Have you seen this bird? Chances are, you've seen them with a broken wing usually. Ok, that's an act. Killdeer, who deserve an Oscar, will pretend to have a broken wing and lead you away from their nest. Standing ovation-worthy performances! 🐦3/7
Feeling like dancing? Sandhill cranes will do very dramatic performances to court their partners. Waiting for their moves to trend on TikTok so we can put together a compilation. 😂 🐦4/7
How about vocal performances? European starlings, blue jays and grey catbirds love doing impressions. Birding can be confusing if you're just going by sound. (confirmed through personal experience!) 🐦5/7
Crows. Crows are wild. If a bigger bird comes near their nest, they will go full goblin mode. Swarming in a group, screaming, diving at the other bird...the list goes on. Honestly, crows are pretty cool. 🐦6/7
Do you have a favorite bird performance? This is definitely the time of year where these behaviors are on full display. Enjoy it and remember to keep your distance and let nature's influencers do their thing. 🐦7/7
@MichiganDNR If I send you a bird call do you think you could ID it?
@MichiganDNR Chickadees!! Nature's cutest security alarm... the more 'dees' on the end of their call, the more alarmed they are. 📸: @mgard_wzzm13
